I knew I was unfit, which was confirmed even more yesterday, but after struggling to get my legs out of bed this morning I though I would try and walk it off. A few miles later and I still feel like I've had a baseball bat massage to legs and hands. Its shite getting old.
Never a truer word expressed. I could hardly get the bike off the trailer last night. Not helped as the front tyre had welded itself to the wheel chock.
Fab! I usually do the last sessions as loads have packed up. I ran a soft rear compound yesterday and it was knackered after the second last session. And I was knackered as well
It was a hot day... Queues as expected. There seemed to be a good grouping of riding skills in the different groups. The quick boys were hard but fair in their overtakes. A massive thanks to @andyb for the use of the best bike there and his hospitality. A big shout to @Dibble for booking us the Andy n Lou guest room at the Crewe n Hapur pub. Plus the snacks including Jammie Dodgers and Bakewell Tarts...we left your 'nanas thou! Thanks to @Mr C for the pink-eye this morning! It was great to meet up again with those on and off here. @Wooly46 @Messer are great lads, thanks for the laughs. @bradders @Expat Jack were on top form too. Saw @Android853sp briefly, A big thanks to those who didn't seek me out for a scrap...it was too hot to be rolling about on the floor.
I lacerated my hand the first time - the next I was motivated to engage brain and now just rock the bike from side to side to break the bond before pulling it out!
rocked it. Nothing. Compressed forks. Nothing. WD40 and a rock and eventually it came free. Then (another) shower! There has to be a quick tip for this, maybe drop pressure as soon as bike is in the chock?
Yes. WD40. I was hot and bothered so just squirted some either side of the tyre. Could have used soapy water but wasn’t thinking.
Jeez I realised how perverted spell check just made me look. to remove any element of doubt or possible prison sentences, throw the t shirt over the CHOCK. Unless your chick has signed the waiver
No - It was better once the bolts were tightened but still not right - going to have to adjust the quickshifter linkage and hope that’s all it is. Shopping list to sort before the next trackday is now: Decent threadlock that won’t melt in the heat. New brake pads Folding levers Gazebo! Towbar Box Trailer Swap out coolant for distilled water and motocool Get exhaust headers ceramic coated I’m sick of the hassle of going to pick up the hire van get it packed and having to get up early to return the next morning! When I first looked at the cost of a towbar for my car it was Audi only at £1500 but now the aftermarket manufacturers have got in on the game there are loads of no cut, no drill options at reasonable prices. This changes the maths in favour of a box trailer - plus I can just leave everything in there ready to go - less hassle mean a more relaxed me so I can concentrate on the riding!
Same with my 4 series: now they have removable tow bars. Not cutting, about £600 fitted. BMW wanted £3500 to retrofit....
