Screws bolts and fasteners

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Multi rider, May 6, 2012.

  1. Just spent £8 on two screws for the plastic fairings bits on my multi and two bolts for the aluminium covers down below! Ducati Aylesbury.....charge aprox £2 a pop!

Any one out there who can give some tips as to where a good place is to source lost screws, nuts and bolts?

    Appreciate your help! :)

  2. Did you buy it from them?
I have been back to my local dealer Mcr twice for similar bolts, no charge!

  3. Thanks folks, much appreciate the info....unfortunately my dealer is ph down by Gatwick whilst I am near Harrow, about a 100mile round trip....my local dealer is West London Superbikes, but I find them a bit useless....just happened to be near Aylesbury, so popped in there!

  4. Jeez.....for the one I bought yesterday I could have got 100....haha ever get that feeling you've been had....haha

Any idea what the black fairing screws are called...if not I will go visit them and ask....no doubt I will need some again in future!

  6. Yup pain in the arse, I use the online parts manual to find the part no and then order them.

(will post the link to the online manual on tue)

  7. They are probably Button Head, Ducati often do them with a slightly larger location diameter than thread size under the head which is not generally available so may have to use Pro bolt for them.....Titanium, Stainless Steel, Aluminium Fasteners & Motorcycle Bolts | ProBolt easily more expensive than stock parts but very high quality
    Any pictures?

You will have to try a button head and see how it looks/fits

  8. Don't know anything about Multi's, but on the 848 the fairing screws are 'M5 flanged button head socket cap screws'

    Like these;

    M5 x 16 Black Flanged Screws

though I went for self coloured stainless on the 848. Bentleys / Aruncas are good for these.

  11. Pro-bolt do kits for various bikes, with all the nuts bolts screws and washers sorted out for you.

I got some stainless screws for the handlebar stuff (twistgrip, brake & clutch clamps) which look great, and black alloy screws for the tank and fairing. All good stuff, and firm is quite helpful. Titanium is very expensive.

  12. You mean that you just called in to Ducati, Aylesbury and they had them on the shelf? If so, they need a pat on the back just for that. I have been trying to get a few small parts (footrest rubber etc.) from Parkinsons, Colchester for over two months. Last visit, their computer said they had received them but they couldn't find them! "We'll just have to re-order them". They never have ANYTHING in stock.

  13. That's kind of true about Parkinson's, but my replacement keyless fuel cap, and replacement heated grips came in... finally...just the replacement comfort seats, top box pad, and centre stand to go!! Generally they are not too bad.....

  14. There's a place in the 'states; Tpo or something similar that can do the whole bike with Ti stuff. I'll check my emails and get back to you.
