  1. Hi all

looking at a 899 which comes with the full termi sys and a few other bits like carbon hugger, eco tech tail tidy Ducati comfort seat etc however just realised that as its in 13k the place also said it was last serviced 2018 at some point and it’s a 64 plate. is there any issues with this seeing as it should of had 5year Deano service?

    many thanks in advance

  2. Welcome. Make sure the price reflects the need for the service :)

  3. Hi el toro

well the price is slightly less but only £200 I’d say which I e only heard stories of price of Deano service

  4. Welcome to the Forum Dan:upyeah:

Deano service ? That’s a new one on me :D. Give any Ducati dealer a call, or a good indépendant and they’ll be able to give you a ball park figure for the 15K mile service. If the seller deals in Ducatis get them to service it, if not don’t, get it done with someone who knows.

  5. lol yeah haven’t you heard Paul of that service

the place is Millenium cycles in at Helens and not a Ducati dealer but they “reckon” the ex Ducati tech in the workshop is the person who sorts them pre sale.

Only thing is I’ve put £49 hold fee on it but not signed anything and my concern is that il Have to get this done straight away

bike has nice upgrades as per above and full termi system which I’m yet to here one

  6. The service could cost around 800 if done at a decent place

  7. Maybe a silly question but with it being regards to valve clearances etc is it okay to ride home

  8. lets put it this way. i just bought a bike that had been serviced and belts changed (no valve clearances checked) in 2017 and had been ridden since then to the mot station and back this year. i had it picked up and taken to cornerspeed ducati for nelly to go through the bike before i was prepared to get on it

it all depends on you and your risk appetite

  9. 899s are plentiful - why buying from a dealer if its not been fully prepped?

  10. It’s Millenium motorcycles not a duke dealer. It has a pdi check and service mot etc and fluids changed and anything else they pick up.
I seen one for sale which has had it done at 18k miles but this has the full sys termis. Other one is less miles but no termis

  11. just put the feelers out here...someone will want out of an 899 and i would much rather buy from an enthusiast. its hardly a limited edition or homologation special

  12. Check that the bike has the Termignoni silencers, Upmap and free flow air filter. A FULL system to me means upgraded headers and silencers.

  14. I’ve emailed them so waiting for a reply. They had a lot of interest make of that what you will but I do t want to be paying out straightaway for it

  15. In my recent experience of getting an 899, which is my first Ducati, good examples don't hang about. Relative to their age, they seem to be holding their value better than the 959 as well.

  16. Took my 899 for a service earlier this year, was told by OYB that the 15k service is about a grand to strip bike and check valves, going upwards if they have to fuck about with the valves but that’s not usually the case

  17. Also their asking price is a bit toppy, I got mine 5k mileage with termis for less than that last year in a private deal, main dealer serviced the month before

  18. I spoke to Ducati Lincoln they reckon it a good place and they quoted around £600 for it but they said it’s not timed it’s mileage which makes sense as why would a 5 year old bike with 4K on it need it

  19. Are they a decent ride too..... I used to have a 748 my last bike but this was many years ago
Going in at the deep end
