Exam Fun!

  1. The teachers know from the mock exam results what a student is capable of and their expected grades and therefore is more accurate than a computer program that downgrades across the board without any knowledge of individual students. It’s a farce of a system and not fair to students. From what we’ve seen the system is just there to stop over marking and not to give students an accurate grade.

  2. They’d scream “govt are trying to kill us by making us take exams!”

  3. So next we'll see people who were due to take their car driving test, when all centres were closed due to the lockdown, claiming that their instructor said that they would pass the test with flying colours and therefore they are now entitled to a full license..

  4. If only then my lad may actually pass

  5. I see that Gavin Williamson was live on BBC Breakfast this morning.

Or, as he calls it, DDE Breakfast.

  6. Look up Irelands Driving license Ammnesty in 1979. They granted a pass to all holders of their second provisional licence as the waiting time for a test was considered too long...

Intrestingly the rate of accidents and claims did not increase!

  7. Think you slightly missed my point. Anyway....we'll find out next year, when REAL exam results can be compared with teacher predictions. I'm guessing there won't be the data splashed about by the media for us to make that comparison though. I also predict that 2021's EXAM grades will be significantly lower than 2020's 'GRANTED' grades (just like 2019's were).

  8. We could perhaps do with algorithm to balance it all out, would that be a good idea? :)

  9. Only if it includes a few £k compensation for mental trauma  ...................TBH..I can see that demand coming too.

  10. I would sooner have seen some who do not deserve the grades, get them.
Than those who have worked hard lose out.

  11. I undertand your point yet if many employers or universities take people "who did not deserve the grades" find the candidates lacking, the value of everyones qualifications is disminished. There is no simple answer.

  12. More fees for universities, call me a cynic

  13. Actually the Car and Bike test is a brilliant indication of what i am talking about. The car test now is about 3 times tougher for the youngsters now than it ever was for me. The bike test was a joke

  14. On this there is no doubt. Pass rate at the local centre is on the bottom 5%of UK - less than 45%. And you cant book a test for 5 months (before lockdown) unless you take what is available with no choice of day/time. Weekend sir? Ha, you’ll be lucky...My lad has failed 3 times I think now (may be 2 but not sure). One he failed at the first roundabout, a 5 junction one with a small ‘no road’ that lasts 10 feet and the guy failed him for taking the 4th exit not third, even though indication was done, because he was on the inside of the road about and on that junction outside is OK for turn 3....nonsense.

  15. Modern day (now) bike tests compared with those back in the eighties, its at least twenty times more difficult to pass! Plus you have to be 25 years old (is it 23?). Insane. You can join the army, vote, drink, get married have kids, buy a house but you can't ride a 600cc bike -WTF.

  16. I'll alway remember the "emergency" stop, where the examiner would step into the road in front of you. So tempting to fack the test up and run over the cnut!

  19. Even members of the cabinet have been affected by the exam result fiasco.

Dominic Raab has been downgraded to Dominic Rbbb.

  20. Amazing what difference four days makes...

Doris four days ago: “Let's be in no doubt about it, the exam results that we've got today are robust, they're good, they're dependable for employers.” Not a single claim in that sentence was true, was it Prime Minister?
