Good ride this morning, went quite a bit further than normal . Strange going out of the comfort distance zone and thinking "I've still got to get back home yet!" Lol .
Wet, foggy, drizzly, muddy and cowshitey as hell above Osmotherley today.....but also great fun !!! The drizzle had washed everything but the stubborn blob of cowshit off the Garmin ! Great day out and a cracking bit of cake at “the joiners shop” tea room !
Much better weather today Did another MTB ride out to the MTB hub at Fryupdale, via the killer climb that is Ingleby incline, basically a 1 mile straight climb gaining 417 meters altitude in one hit blowing outta my ass by the time I got to the top ! It was created In the late 1800s to let full iron ore wagons rocket down this fekkin bank and drag the empty wagons back up on a pulley system....sounds lethal to me ! This is the halfway mark, have to stop to get over the gate.... Only halfway and I’m goosed already,..not looking forward to the top half !! On the top now, what a view over “God’s country “ on a sunny day like today... Just read this,...Victorian engineering at it’s best and most dangerous !! Stunningly beautiful Farndale Dropping down into Fryupdale....”You sure I have to go first!!” Try not to fall off!!! Garmin stats for the day, had to put the phone on charge in the car for this one as phone battery was goosed! Heck of a brilliant day out, hard work on the climbs but well worth the effort for these brilliant views in the middle of nowhere, away from all the pillocks in cars who miss you by 6” !! Very lucky to have this on my doorstep Poucher
Not cycled for 10 days now, longest break this year . Just knackered from the heat and work last week . This week has been early start and late finishes . We are away this weekend so no two wheeled action again . I can see my waist getting bigger and my legs weaker before my eyes . LOL
Ah!...penny’s dropped now ....thanks for triggering my OCD....I’m gonna have to go back and edit my post now...bugger!
We have some similar inclines in Derbyshire. Sheep Pasture incline at Cromford and Middleton incline above that. I love ‘em!
