Hi everyone. Sadly my 821 was stolen on Monday night but 2 scumbags. I am distraught as I loved my monster but I am also looking for advice on what to get next. What would you say? Hypermotard or another monster? I might use the bike for commuting around 60 miles roundtrip. Thank you all for your advice
Sorry to hear that, any chance of finding the scum bags and cutting their finger off? Super sport is quite an upright sitting position if you fancy a change?
Was it taken from home or work and have the scumbags been caught or at least identified? If not I'd consider something less desirable for a while in case they come back for seconds.

At least they did not break in to your home to take it, that would have been even worse. The riding position on the hyper is very different to the monster so have a long test on one before deciding. Lots on here seem to love theirs. Good luck either way.
Take a test ride on a few, Monster, Hyper, I’d even suggest trying a Scrambler 1100. My one observation about replacing like for like would be, you might not form such a strong attachment the 2nd time around. I had a Multistrada stolen and replaced it with another. I had it two years but we never really “clicked”. Eventually I've traded into a Scrambler 1100 and it’s been great. You might find a change is a good thing.
I wouldn’t hold your breath. Whilst most coppers would give a kidney to catch a bike thief, most forces don’t give them the opportunity. It’s a hard to solve crime and they’ll let the insurers (and victims) take the hit. Even if it is found, it’ll likely be damaged. Who’s been riding it? Have they treated it with sympathy? I think not.
As far as I am aware the bike is gone hence why I am looking into a replacement. I found an hypermotard for sale. Cat D but fully repaired by Ducati and all receipts are there. I just need to test drive it as I know how the monster feels already.
Sorry & welcome... Get a cheap old Jap for commuting..it might not get stolen and keep the Hyper for weekend blasts.
