K5 Vs V4s

  1. When I first took mine on track, it was indeed wallowy (is that a word) on the gas exiting corners. This was quickly remedied with settings in the suspension menu. It drives great out of corners now. Coppice one and two spring to mind.

    Remember kids, there’s loads of shite on the internet. And a short search will always find yourself something that fits your narrative.

    Do you really believe a Suzuki k5 would dick a V4S in a back to back test? No chance.

    I must say I’m certainly warming to the looks of the V4, I wasn’t sure at first.
     
  3. Having ridden neither my best guess is no, but then this means the youtubers aren’t giving a honest appraisal so their opinion/findings are a nonsense.

    I won’t be watching anything else they produce.
     
  4. In this case may be, but think they mustn’t have has a clue on the adjustments! Can’t imagine why they’d make it up....
     
  5. At a quick glance it looked like they were relying on the Dynamic suspension rather than setting it up in the infinitely more adjustable Fixed suspension mode. I am no track god but I know what a difference it made when I switched my V4s from Dynamic Suspension to properly set Fixed Suspension and, that was only road riding. The reason the R comes with manual suspension is because it is fully tailorable. The Fixed setting allows for a similar range of adjustment.
    Mary may care to confirm or deny as I may be talking American (bollocks).

  6. To get loads of YouTube hits. It’s a David versus Goliath story. Everyone loves those.

    You could turn any track bike into a dog with a fiddle with chassis settings. That’s why I tend to leave them alone or seek advice.

  7. Probably, from what my lad told me 500k in views is a £1,000. Think it’s why a lot of titles/descriptions are in English but once you start watching the language spoken is not.

  8. That’s true regarding the fixed settings. That’s what mine needed. I couldn’t believe the difference. Witchery I tell thee.... :skull:

  9. Oh no! I just paid cash for my low miles, never ridden in the rain or on track, only women owners, Cat D (but it was just the fairings) K5....

  12. If you are going to compare bikes then it’s no good having one set up for a lard arse and the other for a wafer or else you are truly not going to get the best out of either....go on tie one hand behind your back hit me now...
    Ducati’s have always been so adjustable if you don’t set it up for you you are pushing jn the wind!

  13. Also take into account rider ability. A great example is Sylvian Guintoli in a 100% road trim Gixxer on track keeping up with slick shod Supersport Gixxers . I am not saying the difference is like that in the vid, but a badly set up V4 with average rider I suspect would be beaten by a very good rider on a well sorted Gixxer.

  16. In 2014 I decided to sell my bike with no replacement lined up and took a little break from riding. When I got the bug again, the opportunity of trying the fabled K5 was what I thought about and I ended up getting a fairly tidy and relatively stock Stealth Edition (all black with Yoshi end can), after I couldn't find a good and not messed around with blue and white version (I fancied the classic Suzuki colour at the time). It was a lovely bike, but I only kept it for about a year, as the sound of a traditional inline 4 just doesn't do it for me anymore.

  19. I was running the Gixerjunkies forum back then, a massive forum in its day. The K5 thousand was the best Gixer they ever made. Everything that followed was shite by comparison
