Hi guys hope all well! As above just wondering what mods are good for this bike non subjective wise but also what have you done to yours? I’ve just picked my bike up a week ago and love the bike so far. Came with a great spec as follows: Termignoni titanium exhaust Carbon heel plates Carbon hugger Carbon shock protector Carbon R&G tank protectors Evotech tail tidy Evotech fork protectors & paddock bobbins Ducati comfort seat Throttle spacer kit Black anodised tank quick filler cap Smoked screen.... If there any other things you can think of let me know..... I’m planning on upgrading the foot pegs but not decided on 959 etc standard or the rizoma Ducati official ones. Many thanks Dan
Already a nicely specced bike - congrats and welcome to the clan! From Lincoln I see so you are local to me! Most of the mods so far - Termi being the exception are mainly cosmetic. What are your plans for the bike? You can get a lot of pleasure in personalising the bike and putting your own stamp on it but if you are looking to improve handling then there’s fairly standard list. As the other guys have said wheels! The stock wheels are cheap and heavy - especially the rear! The stock rear shock has come under a fair bit of criticism so that’s next - get the right setup for your weight and the handling is fantastic - I have slightly increased the rear ride height and dropped the front and it sharpened up the steering nicely without upsetting the balance. You have already spotted the pegs are way too slippery - adjustable rearsets will help you fit the bike better and give more grip and ground clearance. Brakes benefit from regular bleeding and decent dot 4 fluid - change more often than the manual says if you are using heavily. Stock pads aren’t great! The forks are good as long as you are in the average weight range and aren’t pushing them to race pace. This thread covers my track build so probably not what you are looked to do but this is what I did to my 959. https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/so-my-track-bike-is-just-about-finished.78844/
This was my 899 A few magnesium parts sets the bike off..Clutch case and headlight stay M50 calipers SSSA conversion Lightweight wheels Few bits of carbon A lick of paint Ohlins TTx rear shock Renthal chain, sprockets and carrier Termi’s and map
Agree with @Andy800 re magnesium bits. Scour the net and you can pick up mag cylinder head covers, deep sump and r/h/s engine case for fair money. Waiting on next service then my mag stuff is going on.
Did a bit of a build up here's the link. https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/a-bit-of-a-build-up.69979/
Hi Where abouts are you located pal? im in two minds no track orientation but tasteful upgrades which it has plenty. only thing I’m confused about is how the owner manual supposed to be wrong with regards front preload as if go clockwise fully open it says that’s H or higher so winding out more for track as per book lowers it so more rider weight on front etc.
