  1. I borrowed one, but was wearing a full face lid.

It's what prompted me to do a 1000SSie DS rather than a 900SSie as my next project, because I loved the engine so much.

    Nasher.

  6. Is that a Chinese fairing kit? The highlighter coloured wording of "Advance" kind of gives it away. Still, better that than the drab uniformity of all red.

  7. Yeah most certainly is £150 2nd hand, few repairs and cheap at twice the price !

My Carla is pretty random and she’s a Ducati :D

This is how she looks at the moment, save for the bracket which attaches the carbon shroud to the left fork stanchion failed a few hours after that pic was taken, causing it to fly off and hit me in the face at **mph. Thankfully I didn’t come off, there was no traffic behind me and it survived with only a few minor scratches in the lacquer.

She’s in her scruffy steel bodywork there rather than her bare carbon fibre Sunday best as the tank sprung a leak and I still haven’t got round to having it fixed. I also pinched her belly pan to fit to my S4R. I have another one waiting to be fitted but it needs modifying first.

Next steps - I’m probably taking her for her first run out on track next week, then I’ll have the tank, seat and belly pan painted up in candy apple red, have the seat reupholstered so the leading edge of it flows into the curved rear edge of the 916 airbox cover (which is just cosmetic, as the bike doesn't have an airbox), refit the fork shroud and get the leaky carbon tank sorted out over the winter.
