848 evo break shudder?

  1. Had an amazing ride today but coming back home was pushing it quite hard and breaking with some gusto when approaching roundabouts I know well and noticed a bit of shudder from the front break. Only happened when breaking quite hard and down shifting, normal breaking was fine.

Should I be worried? I haven't explored the full potential of the brembos yet so a bit concerned.

  2. Check the disc bobbins are free on each Brake disc, give each on a spin.

If the disc isn't floating free it will pulse.

  3. Thanks spoons, will check them tomorrow, hope that's the culprit.

  4. How free should they be? Some are quite tight and scratchy when your turn them, others looser. Can I use a tiny bit of oil on them or is that asking for trouble (certifugal force chucking it out all over the disc surface)?

Still got bit of shudder yesterday after tweaking them all.

  5. How're the pads?

  6. Bike only has 1800 miles on it. Pads look fine to me. Should I be looking at something other than the wear indicators?

  7. you could also take the pads out and using a sheet of flat emery paper rub the surface . then rub the disk surface and finish off with brake cleaner ( on the disk only )

  8. That's low milage, is it still under warranty?

  9. Yes, a month or so factory warranty left. I should give the dealer a call.

  10. bobbins just been looking at mine and i've got two different one which cant be right can it??

  11. The one with the insert is a pick-up for something. Can't remember what though.

  12. Could be TC

  13. Thats it. Think they're the pickups for the front wheel speed sensors.
