How Do You Know If Your Front Forks Are Bent..

  1. Hypothetical Q here but if you buy a set of used forks say or a damaged bike how can you be assured your forks are straight other than the obv damage signs etc?

  2. Send them to motoliner mate
     
  3. Clamp the leg in a vice with nylon half shells to protect, put a dti or similar on the lower and rotate. Do this at various point along. There should be minimal deflection on the clock.

  4. Or just roll them out flat on a true sheet metal workers bench.
     
  5. The caliper brackets tend to hinder that idea.
     
  6. Overhang the caliper bracket end over the edge of the world / table.:thinkingface:
     
  7. Still wont sit flat unless your take them apart
     
  8. V-blocks and a dti is another way
