Well the seller of the 1299 has just messaged to say the bike sold. Viewing the 1199 tomorrow so at the moment the options are either nothing or that haha.
no idea on above but:- https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ducati-1...DefaultOrganic&_trksid=p2047675.c100012.m1985
Looks like this guy has the OEM and Race fairings for the bike as well. The ding on the frame does not appear to be a large impact and should not effect anything for the track however to get the bike licensed, an inspection may prove to be more of a headache due to that issue. A lot of accessories added including a race exhaust as well. I would negotiate the hell out of it and take it for the track in a heart beat. Good luck and happy racing.
Off to see this tomorrow. Owner has sent plenty of photos and that. Has all the original lights etc so just needs road tyres and an MOT. My only concern is the Cat D status and thinking the price is a little too high based on that.
To be fair I think I’m reasonably settled on an 1199. I’ve had one prior so I’m familiar with them. They aren’t 1299/V4 money but should offer me all the power, handling and excitement to turn quick lap times on and have fun. I’m sure, like everyone, I’m always out for a bargain.I probably just need to adapt mentally to the fact that motorcycles sometimes fall over and to mitigate the financial risk rather than try and eliminate it. The best way to eliminate it would be to not ride. I tried that and it wasn’t nearly as much fun
I’ve seen but would want it for use on the road as well so unfortunately it wouldn’t be an option despite the cracking nature of that bike.
I’ve also narrowed this down as an option. Would be what I’m looking for in a 959. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/193620492178
It did crop up but I think the cost of changing to a more modern bike may be around the same with more benefits.
