I would say you should buy with your heart and not try to predict what the market will do. Surely having a bike that you get a lot of enjoyment out of would outweigh making a couple of quid a few years down the line.
Nice. There may not be much time to act on the laverders, prices are starting to swing wildly. As soon as people actually start to pay 5 - 6 k for them the £1500 examples will disappear and re appear at twice the price. I am also seeing a significant differential in price between half and full faired models. There is a very nice silver full faired bike on eBay at the moment for a very reasonable £3000 bin, with just 3000 miles on the clock.
it's an Edwards Castrol Replica.....Edwards won the WSBK championship in 2002 on an SP2 and Honda Produced the final edition SP1's in Edwards Castrol Rep Colours before they launched the SP2 road version
The Honda is a genuine Homologation bike built so Honda could race against Ducati in WSBK it has some trick parts GP Frame/Swingarm and other stuff.....definitely a bike with a future......I'd go for a 02/03 SP2 and if you can find one thats had a few bits done like the High level Titanium Akrapovics and the like making sure you get the original bits with it for about £5.5K then that'll be the one I'd buy.....read here....WSB homologation specials at a glance - | Motorcycle News | New Motorbikes | Buyers Guides | MCN
tzr 250 hmm mito a good thought if standard trim aprilia af1 basicaly any 2 stroke should be a good bet as not realy producing them anymore vfr 400 could be a good bet as there wont be many left but rather than looking at it from investment point of view look at bikes you always wanted when younger and didnt get and enjoy it
not mentioned yet are mopeds how many people love fizzy's and the like so future classics to invest in peugot speedfight and piaggio zip anybody not going to break the bank and in 20 years the future collectors want the bike of their youth................ but think i would rather stash something else for 20 years than a moped but on the plus side small cheap easy to work on
Is £2200 a good price for a yellow 748 sps with 17000 miles, full service history, termis and recent belt change???
I had a white '02 SP-2, fantastic bike. Have been asked if I want to buy it back. (£5K) I still have the presentation box in the garage with the Castrol/race sticker pack with the VHS tape, letter from Honda, the season WSB ticket voucher to see every race and some other goodies in it. 748R's seem to be going up in value.
bimota yb 1000 or if you can get one sb6 yb's are rare sb6 maybe 5k at a stretch but both deffo classics
