Got a pretty good dinner and Fanta for 11€ by the sea got @Ducbird a pretty good bins shot they go on and on
Had a few boring chores this morning then out on the 996 round West Meon and there were 5 police camera vans out and one of the sly bastards was very well hidden(i'm sure they are not allowed to do that), i ended up going for a nice ride out to Salisbury, and there was another van on the carriageway from Winchester that joins to the A34, fuckers, obviously need a fucking cash injection!! Got home and made myself a better bracket holder for my Lithium battery. I glued some bits i cut from an old back protector to keep it nice and tight, turned out pretty good methinks.
Thanks for tip-off Wayne, that's the area a lot of bikers "let steam off" so not surprised they are concentrating effort there.. I like your battery holder.
Decided to give the planned ride with the guys a miss today. I physically can't do a third day of 240+ miles so Carole and I took a run out over the Dales to Kendal for lunch. 160 miles all told at a pace where we could enjoy the awesome scenery. Love the Dales but Cumbria is really special. Enjoying the late summer warmth in the hotel garden now with a chilled Estrella. Andy
Went back and finished a job after the gardener cut back the triffid, took the roof off as new one being fitted then a couple of coats of oil and painted the outbuilding which used to have a full size snooker table inside, shame its gone as would have had a game at lunch time.
I've spent most of the day doing stuff in the garden (including sunbathing I may add as it's scorchio here too) Tomorrow I'm off out with "slow Dave" for the day
I'd to run some errands this morning and then a treat on the 96 that's not been used for a while,it took a while for the penny to drop why it wouldn't fire up,because i forgot in all the excitement that the sidestand has to be in the upright position,.....idiosyncratic bikes who needs them. Anyway disappointing as No spitfires in the skies over the coastline today for the Battle of Britain when i was down there.
I've had one in my 900ie for about 4 years now and it is bang on so thought fuck it treat the 996 with one, no issues yet
Had the day off work, hasn’t been best day to be fair. Got the 748 out remembering it would prob need petrol although the light hadn’t come on yet. Just about got in to Aylesbury and cut out. Out of petrol no light on. Great half a mile push and its27 degrees. Guy stopped in a van absolute gent threw some petrol in started straight away.( 200 yards from petrol station ) now sweating like the proverbial fill up and I’ll got to OYB get a can. Bloody cafe shut and water cooler out of use due to Covid. Bollox I’ll go home. Get off bike pull a muscle in my back. Fine I’ll stop on floor and watch telly - love a day off
Went for a swim in the sea at Gorelston on sea. Was joined by an inquisitive seal for about 3 minutes. Bobbing along beside me. Not cold at all. 20C air temp and almost deserted beach. Sweet.
Not a lot of crime around here TBH plus the garages are not visable from the street. The closest fire is 60 miles away but the smoke and ashe was everywhere for a couple of days. I really done see it getting any better in the years to come. Looks like the weather is good across the pond.
Yes, I meant the fire situation, no idea of your neighbourhood but trust it's "ok". I had a bike stolen about a month ago which gave me a massive wake-up call.. nothing has happened here like this before. I was extremely fortunate to find and recover myself after following a hunch.
Your right Chris, it only takes one time, I need to put some kind of locks on the bikes. Well done on getting your bike back on your own.
