1200 Enduro Chain And Sprocket Kit

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by MotoNik, Sep 19, 2020.

  1. Any recommendations for where to get a high quality chain and sprocket kit for my 2017 1200 Enduro?

No apparent wear on the rear sprocket, but just had the chain slip giving it the beans in Sport mode, so I'm guessing the front sprocket is done.

  2. Have you done an Ebay search?, there are some good quality kits on there, worth a look.

  9. Bit of uncertainty over how many links the chain should have. Look-up tables seem to suggest 116, but I've counted 114 on the bike. So that's odd. Anyone else run in to this issue?

  10. Thank you, I really appreciate you posting that - I've saved the pdf, as it's incredibly useful!

  11. I think you count the side plates and times by two

  12. I had to do it three times, as I lost count once, and wanted to count twice, just to be sure!

  13. Try a forth just in case...

  14. How long has that place been there? I used to live just down the road in Trowbridge until three years ago.

Interesting fact about Frome I just found it; Joni Mitchell used to live there! As per this blog post by a friend of mine:

  17. Joni Mitchell was in front of me buying front pads for the Gixxer....

  18. Afam chain and sprocket kit still in brilliant condition with over 20,000 hard miles in my MTS 1200. Cant recommend highly enough, so much better than the rest I have had over time.

  19. Quite surprised to hear of chain slip, how many miles in the current chain kit? Ever been adjusted?
