Yea as she pointed out whilst the flames were licking round my legs and my socks were melting to my feet - she bought me the trainers
Good story bro (EDIT: aimed at the installer, not Perry). There are hundreds and hundreds of verified complaints, enough to get Which Magazine and the ASA involved. These complaints revolve around Pressure Selling (not applicable in your case). False claims of Green Credentials False claims of savings. False claims of efficiency*. Bad mouthing of other technologies. *Even at frost temperatures air sourced heat pumps are 250% efficient. No matter what the season you will get only 100% efficient from that Fischer electric element. All the kW/hr used will turn to heat (hot water) at 15p a unit. If you had stuck with gas it would have been 97% efficient at 3.5p per kW/hr. You would have been better off with a Combi.... instant heat (if you installed radiators) and hot water. You didn't need a hot water tank. Just so you know what you have was designed for Off grid storage of energy. Phase change material = PCM Collect electricity from renewables when available then store it in a high PCM dense* core to be turned into hot water as and when required. You've effectively got a very expensive hot water tank "capability". A bit like your storage heaters, but with a much higher specific heat. *So the only thing that is thick in this debate is the core at the centre of that storage brick. Uncap the gas, switch back and get yerself a proper heating system. 23 million UK homes can't be wrong? https://www.theccc.org.uk/wp-conten...-Committee-on-Climate-Change-October-2016.pdf
aBSOLUTELY NOT! I DON'T WANT GAS! You will be suggesting chopping down trees next! The thought that I will never again use gas and will never again have a gas fitter in my house sucking in air through his teeth and telling me that "it is not a simple job" fills me with unending joy! This device will not last forever and if that occurs then I will replace it with either the same (if Fischer give me a good discount) or an instant hot water heater (where Fisher put theirs has given me an idea as to how I could wire it up from the junction box). S I have not got a hot water tank because it stores no water. It was very expensive but I knew that from the start and decided to give it a go.
Let's stick to basic physics. 100 percent efficiency is impossible. 250 percent is ludicrous. That would mean something creates energy. Energy isn't made or lost it just is. When we convert it through physics or chemistry we have loss. I don't know this fisher system but reversing a chemical reaction via electricity so it can happen again to heat some water does seem a extra step in the process. The amount of energy needed to heat a defined amount of water to a certain temperature is always the same provided the conditions are the same. On the face I would agree that a 2 step process doesn't sound efficient compared to any equivalent single process system. Emphasis on equivalent.
