Well it’s getting close to Bonfire night a few pallets against the base of the tree some Petrol and an ignition source. What could possibly go wrong.......
just got brave and did Phase one, cleared area (not a single wasp out) put up ladder (same) hit tree hard and loud (not a dicky bird or a wasp). Up the ladder, a few rubberneckers at the "mouth", half a gallon of petrol dahn the 'atch, tried not to fall down the ladder on descent. Watched for five minutes, nothing.. Checked for other exits, looks as though this will be easier than I thought but no way of knowing how far down trunk they are, might try a stethoscope at Phase II. I reckon "traffic" was about 3 a second, almost constant at times today so has to be pretty large. I even checked for tree falling and it's fine, has a nice lean our way and no telegraph wires. (lol)
Had a ride up to North Berwick and a coffee at Drift which has stunning views of the Bass rock. Almost turned round at Carter Bar on the way up as it was raining and misty but the weather cleared and it turned out to be a nice day. Heated grips were definitely on for the journey home though.
I saved a huge amount on my car insurance today. I put it into reverse and left the scene a bit sharpish......
Those of a squeamish disposition look away or scroll past this post pronto..... Yesterday at work whilst chopping vegetables for some inexplicable reason I caught my finger in the up down motion of the 10” knife, sliced off part of my finger nail . Ouch! It hurt. Blood everywhere and had to retrieve it from the veg or else bin the lot, just in case. I stuck the bit of nail back in it’s place and bandaged it up. Today I had to change the dressing. It’s not too bad now, although I doubt the big of nail will survive. Gory photos coming up - you have been warned.
