The new pipes are indeed attached over the previous sections as they should be - quite why a Ducati dealer would sell & install 45mm pipes to a customer when his bike has 50mm pipes is beyond me. The misfire was due to a poor connection to the horizontal cylinder injector, caused by the retaining tabs on the cable that plugs into the injector not retaining the cable thus the spade in the injector just pushed it back rather than engaged each time the plug was connected.
Why? Do you have an issue on one of yours? If I’ve linked it correctly, post 241 here [URL="https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/threads edit : no search for a thread 998S refurb, post #241 has the detail & pics
Lols, you reminded me of the time I filled my mates boat with petrol and was standing on the fibreglass deck, one foot either side of the flush filler just pouring it into the whole from a 20l container. Anyway I sloshed some on the deck and by the time I had finished pouring my cheap trainers had turned into a toxic gel prob more like napalm than anything else! Took me fooking ages to clean it off!
@brettski had nice birthday trainers that his missus bought em. She set fire to em whilst he was wearing em...she thinks it ok coz she paid for em.. im not so sure if it works like that....
Yes i've a technical problem on the 916,after 6k RPM it hestitates / cuts outs then kicks in again....i have asked on here, but given up now asking, but i'll read your's out of interest to see if the problems / symptons are the same as mine.
Aged 15, I fell in love with Katrien. That poster was my pin up in my bedroom. Scroll forward decades to 5 yrs ago when I next discovered the picture. But now, being an old fart I fell for the bike, which caused me three years of angst building my version, a tribute to Ben Part’s bike, the original Zagato Guzzi
Nice 300 mile ride around Essex,Suffolk,Norfolk with 5 other like minded, feel like I’ve been on a holiday.
Had a good 8 mile walk ruined by a large stick and small balls. After ripping the flooring up in the bathroom and seeing what a real bodge the ‘experts’ did!
After a couple of weeks of being ill a day out on the bikes was great medicine, went out on the s1000r this morning and at a guess 1 in 10 acknowledged the nod, got home a took the Vespa out to drop some invoices off and the nod rate was much higher probably 7 in 10. If you were one of the Panigales coming out of Morton in the Marsh at approx 11am doing 80plus in a 30 is not clever.
Amongst various things I cleaned my car whilst at work today. Was half considering selling up and spending a lot of cash on something ‘better’, but I can’t think of anything I’d rather own right now!
I was overtaken by an 848/1098 going into Henley yesterday. 30 mph limit. He was going at least 60. What a cock.
Always wanted a Vincent specifically a 1951 series C Rapide and that is a very nice Guzzi you have there.
Thank you. I’ve got a hankering for a Vincent too, but I’m totally out of my depth with these old boys. Fingers crossed one day eh. Meanwhile my short term goal is a roundcase 750 sport. Watch this space but don’t hold your breath on me
