What did you just buy for your bike?

  1. I have never understood what the fuss is about the aesthetics of Stompgrips tbh.
    A) they are transparant/clear (unlike Techspecs), and
    B) they are invisible when riding the bike

  2. Thanks for the link Dom. I actually just went on and ordered the Stomps anyway, but cheers for sharing the Gripster ones. I think they'll look ok - my bike has the unpainted tank so I went for clear ones that should hopefully be quite subtle. I just wish I ordered them last week as I'm on my first trackday with the Ducati tomorrow night...

  3. Aye, you're not wrong. I had them on my GSXR for 5 years and didn't really notice the looks of them after a few weeks. I was just feeling guilty about maybe messing up the classy looks of a Ducati with them, but they'll be fine.

  4. Forgot to add my DP carbon heel plates to this thread. Ordered them in April (ish) but they had to come from the factory and landed this week, I had them 12 hours later at my work in Aberdeen courtesy of excellent service again from Ducati Glasgow. Fitted them last night along with the bar ends and they look amazing.

Bar ends seem to make a bit of an improvement, will find out properly today when I ride the 130 miles home I guess!

Here's a couple of pics of the heel plates. One question, do I "need" the carbon side panels or is it going to start to look tarty? This Corse paint scheme makes it hard to tell.

  5. Defo need the cf side panel...The oem one looks like a cheap nasty tea tray!
What you really, really want is a full system...

  6. Aye...

I think I do "need" the carbon side panels but I think it's also a bit of a minefield decision-wise. I could get "cheap" ones that may look cheap or I could do what I see as the right thing and get the DP ones which will be first class quality based on the stuff I have already. Thing is, the DP ones are gonna sting me £350-£400 from the dealer, and I've never seen any for sale used so this looks the only way to get them and that's too much to just impulse buy.

I'll try and save for these and get the DP ones in a few months. I really don't think there's much else I'd want to change after that. I love the full system but I just can't justify the cost when I've already shelled out so much for the cans. They look fantastic though!

  8. Sorry, thought you were talking about the exhaust shield, my bad!

Main difference with the side panels IIRC is the DP ones retain the Testa wording.

  9. Famous last words

Just for you Andy, get rid of those slippery non-adjustable pegs and get some of these: the Ducati Corse RS rearsets :upyeah:

  10. That's one of the things I was wondering about. I might be sad, but I want to keep that wording if I can. Think I've decided that I do want to get these and when I do it's going to be the DP ones. I've got a quote from the shop so it's just a case of "saving up" for them I guess!

Funny - about the pegs, I was just looking at pics with a mate at work and decided I need to paint them black and paint the fasteners too. They look silly being stainless in among all the black.

  11. Cheers Matt, helpful pic.

I think my unpainted tank will hide them as well as I can hope for.

  12. Just got a carbon hugged second hand off eBay supposedly ducati performance, is there supposed to be the gap by the linkage it fits well other than that, it's on an 848 ImageUploadedByTapatalk1369993520.521159.jpg
