1200 R Moto Gadget Mirrors

Discussion in 'Monster' started by MarketSquareHero, Sep 30, 2020.

  1. Anyone use the Moto Gadget bar end mirrors on the monster. The ones that fit into the end of the bar replacing the oem bar end.
Just wondering if they stay put when fitted or continually need adjusting.
Big fan of crg mirrors but being an idiot and sold a couple of sets in the past thinking I won't need them, I refuse to buy another set.
Have a set of conventional Moto Gadget mirrors on the hyper and the quality is top notch so I'm hoping the same with the bar end ones.

  2. I don’t have motogadget ones but I do have bar end mirrors on my 1100S and yes they stay put, no issues at all :)

  3. Thanks for that.
The Moto Gadget ones fit into the bar end where as yours look like they fit round the bar.
Do you know what make those are?

  4. They fit into the bar end, I had to take the original bar ends out and replace them, the mirror fits around the bit that fits into the bar end so there's 2 allen bolts to tighten, one that spreads the internals to hold them in the bars and another that secures the mirror to the new bar end.

Fit and finish is very good as well, I recommend them :upyeah:

  5. £50 the pair,worth a punt at that.Thanks for the recommendation.
The inner dia. of the Monster R bars are 14mm so I'm presuming these will fit.

  6. Im guessing the bars on an R and my 1100S are a similar internal diameter but these do have fair range of fitment as they supply a whole load of collars with them although I never had to use any. I don't think you'll be disappointed and you can obviously have them hanging upside down if you prefer. They take a while to fiddle around with to get just right but once on that's it.

Just one tip I did have to tighten the allen bolt holding the mirror to 'bloody tight'. I did it to what I thought would be tight enough with an allen key but then found out that above a certain speed* the mirror started to move slightly with the air force. Had to get the socket set out and tighten even more - I've no idea what torque but it's never moved since.

    * a speed that equates with the national speed limit which it was permissible to exceed as I was on a private road.

  7. Yeah, those private roads can be a bit of a nuisance.

Got these on my 1200R, rock solid at “ahem” speeds, they replace the bar ends

  9. Thanks for the recommendation.
Already ordered the ones West Cork Paul has but will keep these in mind for future reference.

  10. Used West Cork Pauls link for the mirrors.
Ordered Thurs.evening and arrived this morning. Can't complain about that.
Not fitted on the bike yet but I'm pleasantly suprised with the quality.Normally buy well known branded products for the bikes so this is quite an exception so without the recommendation I wouldn't have touched them.
Not sure I'd go this direction on levers, rearsets etc. but it's made me think twice for future purchases.
