I think with bikes it’s weight and cost. Most bikers fill up every 100 miles or so, so as long as it’s no more than 15-20 min at most stations it would be a goer for many

That's what I am looking for. Surprised the charge up cost is not more widely known, as I am sure it is way lower than petrol and probably will in the future be the reason for switching.
Think it depends tho, as bikes are not cars. In the car I happily search the cheapest place, for example ump off the mway rather than come away with an arse like a gunshot wound having filled up in their stations. On the bike, I'll just stop whenever I need and pay whatever it is. As close as I could find with a quick google, but its cars...a tenner for a full charge on a leaf which is what, 140 miles? It will be much lower, I just don't have the inclination to work it out theoretically but be aware that when we all go electric there will be different rates for charging vehicles to offset the loss of fuel tax revenue. It may be fairer to compare 100 miles of petrol minus tax (say £2) with electric charge minus the 5% tax

So, what to do? Bikewise is no issue as I really need to get what I've got roadworthy. But.... I need to buy a car and "reward" myself with a new bike once some money comes through (or hell freezes over as it is a close run thing) Car-wise: I'm guessing that the greenest thing to do is what I was planning to do in the first place. That is to buy used for about 8-10k. It may be petrol but being used as it has already been made and no more energy or materials have been used to make it.. Bikewise: I could still get all of the bikes in my list used. All of the models are available used, In fact: as I have a track record in smashing up brand new bikes then maybe used is a better bet! If you don't give a fuck where stuff comes from (as you said above re the risks off mining & stuff), why worry about going green at all? A treat would be a nice car, not one of these horrendous looking electric vehicles. Unless you're paying £250 grand plus they all look shite.
I don't really GAF about cars. To me it is just a utility for carrying shopping or materials home. I've never had any big inking for any car in particular as they just don't do it for me. Also, whilst I may take a bike out for a fun ride over to Wales or something, I wouldn't see that as "fun" in a car - just stuck in sone queque somewhere waiting to overtake a line of lorries or caravans. In fact, I see buying a Ducati electric bicycle as more of a treat - you've given me an idea!
I have used this to get around London for the last year or so. Strictly illegal of course in the UK, but widely accepted in almost every other nation. Now that public transport comes with a worse danger to life warning than a packet of fags, I feel quite empowered as I scoot at up to 27 km/h. Haven't quite got the knee down yet, but working on it.
Another few small matters: Apart from no license, I cannot physically get my leg over (a bike) and I have no kit! But......... just did a BikeTrader search for used Ducati Supersport S and loads came up - including one with zero miles at M & P in Swansea. Well, that's the important thing ticked off!
Used the Bird scooters in Seville last year when there for a long weekend. Great for getting around the city with temperatures in the hight 30s without getting into a sweat. Last week I moved to Cheltenham and found these all over the place. Still don't think it's legal to own/run your own on the road for some bizarre reason but it's a step in the right direction. That's until some muppet gets killed or badly injured on one...
Has sir considered a step-through option, Yamaha Majesty springs to mind Buying a used Toyota prius may tick the boxes you are looking for: it looks shit, it will be cheap, you can treat it like a van, it is partly electric (smug value) is partly petrol (up yours value), has metal-hydride batteries so all those kids didn't have to die, and is virtually invisible to car thieves
Some muppet was sadly killed last year in Battersea. It gave every van driver an excuse to shout "get off the road" at me.
I find it really amusing that Bristol council, who domino allow bike son pavements or pedestrianised areas, are promoting these. Wonder if they'll also be ok with skateboards now...
