Old news nothing has been decided and strong opposition to changing it. It’s the bafoons in the DOE wanting change for change sake
The scoreboard is part of TT history, surely they won’t replace it. I recall a chap I know who after doing his first 120 lap asking me to take a snap of him holding his time plaque in front of the scoreboard. It might be antiquated but it’s part of the TT charm.
Possibly, but when it is changed what are the chances they will go back to the original scoreboard?, who knows but let's hope they do.
Are they replacing The Scoreboard with a big screen showing live action from around the course, live timing updates and telemetry data? No doubt the Grandstand prices will double to pay for it. None of which would actually affect my enjoyment from my preferred viewpoints out in the countryside.
Not sure how a Covid sage event will work, the event needs competitors and marshals who need to come across.
Decision tomorrow https://www.bikesportnews.com/news/news-detail/tt-2021-on-or-off-decision-at-12pm-tomorrow
I really hope it runs for the sake of the Manx economy, we were going to the Manx Classic this year but no go, so have transferred everything until next year, fingers crossed!
Agree that it is sad but I wouldn't worry about the Manx economy - they are fecking loaded!!! But, they should be helping out the hoteliers and ferry company - dunno if they are. Well, the whole manx tourist economy will have been knackered!
Can't see the TT being run in May. Its still not even possible to travel to the IOM unless you are resident.
