Anybody interested in a free ride in a helicopter for 4 people? I'm still looking for 2 more adults to join us. We leave early Saturday morning (October 17) from Manchester Airport and will fly to the Isle of Man, where we will have breakfast, then have lunch on a friend’s yacht. Then we’ll do a flight across the island to see the autumnal colours, returning to Douglas for dinner, then fly back home. If interested, please message me. Preferably someone with a helicopter and yacht, otherwise we can't go
Had my T6 remapped with Tuning Emporium from Worcester, taken it from 204bhp and 332lbft torque to approx 245bhp and 406lbft but my mate had the same mapper and got 276bhp and torque up to 434lbft on a dyno run. Wheel spins in ’D’ up to 3rd gear on acceleration from standstill now so happy days. Will get it dyno’d one day just out of curiosity. Also fitted some Porsche Cookie Cutters to the Ghia but not too sure if I like them or keep the Fuchs. Cutters top pic, Fuchs bottom pic
I have a T5 114bhp, I’ve considered a re-map but put off by tales of the clutch and gearbox not able to cope with the extra bhp? Any truth?
I thought the same but also heard there are no problems either, my mates done 50k in his with no issues but we’ll see and I can always reset the map if it plays up
Depends upon what year/engine/gearbox you have. Best person to speak to is Martin at Pendle Performance in Barnoldswick. He is well respected in the world of T5 tuning, a bit blunt, but does know his stuff & uses his rolling road to custom tune each vehicle. Depending on the year of your van, if it's a 1.9 vintage engine that can easily go from the lowest power output, 84ps to 140ps+, after that you really need the 6-speed gearbox to cope with the torque increase. Not sure about the 2.5 engines or later 2.0 litre engines, but I'm guessing if it's done by someone who knows what they are doing there shouldn't be a problem. All the people I've read about on the T5 forum who've had issues have had tunes done by people who do it "on your drive".
