Are you sure? I thought it stops you pulling away but not starting. But been a long time since I wonder a 748...my S4 starts and runs no problem on the stand
I expect yours has been bypassed then mate. Very common mod, had it on my 996. But the 748 is as it left the factory.
When you have the pump etc assembly out check that the big o ring is the later x section one and not original round section jobbie. Due to the tank swelling and generally changing its shape due to the Ethanol in fuel .....the better x ring helps to prevent fuel leaks. While your'e in there might be good to change the fuel filter too.
My plan all along Just fed 12V the pump and guess what......not a single noise/move....I think I am on the right track. That would correlate with indiciators sequence and other comments
Nice one Mr Obeilx... Good that you've got a solid fault.... not like poor souls on here sometimes who's bike conks out.... then is OK for a bit..... Thinking of dragging my s2r out of the kitchen and getting it ready for the road... Fed up of the mutly....
it turns out the fuel pump is perfectly working. It is down to the fuel pump harness...got intermittent continuity on the fuel pump and not continuity at all on the sender After digging out the putty inside...all crumbly by the way, 2 wires came out loose....what a surprise. So if everything works out, some soldering and new putty and it should be back working fine again! That harness do have a Ducati part number by the way....nowhere to be seen on diagrams 51020032A. Still expensive but much cheaper to get sold the fuel pump assembly......hopefully it should cost me the cost of the epoxy and some time
I wonder if threebond 1215 would be OK to pot that wiring.... don't want something that sets too hard.....although it's fuel proof.... Total immersion in bloody ethanol shite is a different matter....
I do not think it would last..... looking at Electrolube ER2223, which chemically resistant Epoxy resin.
