It is really smooth compared to my yzf250 I had. Lighter too. Most of the extra power feels higher up in the Rev range. Feels easier to ride fast to me but I’m quite heavy (16st). The 350 is only 4bhp off the 450
you NEED the 350 then. Map 1 makes it really easy to ride fast. I don’t find map 2 that much more aggressive so I use 2 all the time
2017, 1290 SA. Had an electrical glitch a week after I bought it new which was fixed without any drama. I’ve taken it around Europe and it hasn’t missed a beat. Finish and quality as good as any bike I’ve had. Only problem was KTM’s flimsy GPS cradle which transmitted the vibrations to the GPS and made it unreadable. Got something more substantial now.
On the subject of the glorious KTM 990 ADv, I see a few of you have one as well. Mines an '06. Nearly 50 k on the clock. I am plagued with a random cutting out problem. It happens in all revs, all speeds - stationary to making progress and its getting worse. I just can't bottom it out, any body else get it... any ideas?
If its faulty or has a bad connection it will kill the engine when in gear. I used to trail ride my 990 and if you did anything more than small jumps or potholes at speed, the stand would move enough to cut out the engine. I put a stronger spring on the stand to stop the movement.
It’s a small German outfit, I don’t have their details to hand but I’ll post the details on this thread later on. It’s good quality and as far as I can remember, cost around £110.
Got the missus a 690 Duke, properly good fun for arsing about on, very light, punchy motor, what’s not to like. We were fortunate that it came with a host of nice add ons like a nitron rear shock, remap etc.
Thats just greedy! I do keep looking at Superdukes as i imagine they would be a lot of fun and comfortable at the same time.
Gary, The man you need is Jochen Schaal; his website is www.schaal-cnc.de I paid 122 euros for mine. It's simple to install and as I said, a well made bit of kit.
