What exactly do these numbers refer to? Are they the number of people who died of a given cause based on how many were affected? For example if the number of firearms in circulation increased significantly, it would be logical the suppose the number of fatalities from accidental discharge would increase too.
Quick google. Only know because a hunt mentioned it in an interview last week, yet it’s been hardly anywhere on MSM...makes you wonder why https://news.sky.com/story/coronavi...-may-have-been-misdiagnosed-as-covid-12110063 also it’s been referenced here before so I won’t go and find it but a large number of Drs and virologists have put their name to a report demanding a rethink as the validity of all these restrictions compared to the damage isn’t proven or actually believed as correct by them
The true figures won't be know for years, if at all. Even now they argue over Spanish flue, 50 million? Do you really belive countries are shattering economies for 1% mortality rate? My gut feeling is this is with us for the long haul, mother nature is giving us a slap for over population & living way beyond our normal expiry date.
I appreciate that was just a quick search. But "maybe misdiagnosed" is a far cry from 30% of lung cancer patients died due to Covid restrictions. Plus its being reported by a Murdoch company, a cancer in itself.
Really Sorry to hear this Noods, i'm stating the obvious but really hoping for a good outcome regarding.
No less likely than 44k have died from something else and just happen to have covid too but not reported as such
Thin ground there imo. The number of deaths in the UK have been trimmed due to potential discrepancies from 60K to 42K, if Murdoch types could come up with another theory to plausibly reduce it further they would have published already & we would know. Instead their comes a point when the pro economy/ survival of the fittest crew know when they are ahead in an arguement and realise that any further "theories" is over playing their hand. You're a smart guy. Yet they've already had you saying some fairly strong cancer death figures. This could be true, but I've been watching and reading this situation very closely and I've never seen anything close to a study that supports these kind of claims. As I said I'm open to some more info but...
I read two things for facts: worldometers for comparison across borders and ons for stats. Simple fact is that the increase in deaths 2020 to 2019 seems almost exactly the same as the covid numbers. So none of them died from cancer or heart attacks?
And if the govt minister raises it as a ‘yes we know it’s affecting others, like the....’ etc....you have to wonder what made him do that
https://www.uklcc.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/UKLCC-COVID-19-Matters-Report-Oct-2020.pdf the sky article called out the organisation. Here’s the report.
Thanks! "Increased mortality – It is estimated that the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic could lead to an additional 1,372 deaths due to lung cancer, reversing the progress achieved in lung cancer over recent years" So a cause for concern but nothing on current patients dying earlier than expected. It may equally be argued that lung cancer patients will face shortened life expectancy due to widespread CV19. That risk could also be estimated to be reduced by lockdowns...
Don’t they also comment and estimate on the 5 yr impact, as people will have not got stuff checked and it takes time to wash thru? Remember, covid experts that’s still control ‘the science’ predicted 250k deaths in the U.K....
The estimates five years into the future are like those about CV19 and 250K. What really happened was 50K (median death toll) so 20% of estimate. If the same scenario applies that to the cancer figures -1372 potentially additional deaths over five year period- we get an increase of 1 additional lung cancer death per week. Every avoidable death is too many of course but compared to CV19 with a rate of 1562 per week (Mar to Oct '20 or 50K / 32 weeks) gives some context. How much worse would that have been had we not enforced the social restrictions? We could reverse this discussion and ask how many more people will die from CV19 if we focus too much on lung cancer.
i have to say it saddens me somewhat reading this my friend.. When you’ve the like of @Ducbird on here who through no fault of her own is scared to go out of her front door etc because of Covid, with not only the risk of catching it to bring fear but the effect lockdown itself brings to one’s wellbeing.. I’m high risk too and while we all know i’ve little want for life myself i’m more concerned as to the extra work and risk it would bring to our NHS staff if i was wheeled into a covid-19 ward. I’m guilty as charged of doing this myself before when i selfishly took a large OD a few years back, my only defence is that when on recovery i witnessed first hand the selfless work the NHS staff do, no matter how and why they find you laying before them, they give you their all. Late last night i found out that the Company that my B in law works for, a large printing company ( 7 covid cases now) apparently during enforced lock down and only essential key workers should be working etc, well, the Company insisted that they continued to work, even though they only print the kind of unwanted junk you get through your door. £ over health apparently by the two owners. So now the B in Law is petrified he might be about to lose his Wife, my Sister, knowing, that he brought it home to her. Thanks for the kind thoughts by the way. I was updated by the hospital a couple of hours ago and told she has deteriorated over night sadly while on a respirator so it’s now a case of just hoping she responds to the treatment while the respirator breaths for her etc. We see these numbers on the TV of how many cases and fatalities each day etc and yes, think about the number instead of considering how each digit is someone’s luved one or friend etc who may have just passed away thanks to a deadly disease which may have been an unwanted gift presented to them by some unsuspecting fellow human who was just going about his way. Don’t worry will always luv ya my friend albeit in a manly way obv X Be careful, one and ALL... X
It’s really sad mate. But people catch things or have illnesses. They get I’ll. it’s a major worry for the family and friends and so,e don’t make a recovery. It’s just life. The action taken is similar to outlawing all tobacco and alcohol sales because plenty die from diseases related to those imho. It’s one step to take extra cleanliness and other protection, if they work, and another to put millions on the dole and take away people’s lives and final years/months/days with their family
I thought we were taking these steps so our hospitals don’t become overwhelmed? At its peak the NHS was at maximum capacity with over a thousand people dying everyday. I see the deaths are now on the rise again, on the current trajectory we could be back up to over one thousand people everyday within the next few weeks. Combining COVID with an overwhelmed care system during the winter is a scary prospect, whether you’re at risk from COVID or not.
