MADASL latest project ....

  1. ... an 800ssie being preped for supertwin/streetfighter class racing next year.

Should be up and running at Castle Combe on the 26th June (hence standard cans) for a shake down ready for stripping and painting etc.

PS - extra points for people who spot standard items being recycled. Not all in the standard position. Helps keep the costs down to a degree.

  2. Those pillion pegs look somewhat out of place on a race bike

  3. Kenoir - A good spot but when the pegs and associated metal work is removed you have a light, cheap and available exhaust hanger:upyeah:

  4. Are they currently being held in place by zip ties??

  5. I like the wooden exhaust spacers, nice!

  6. looks pretty cool waiting for next instalment :upyeah:

  7. Small link pipes on the way to being completed - wood to be recycled.

Ty-wraps but used backwards so they can be released and recycled - aluminium bracket in the making.

  8. Now that is being frugal...

  9. Agreed - but it's customer money I'm spending so frugal is good. As is safe and functional :upyeah:

  10. Is the 800SS also eligible for minitwins?

  11. 800SS is eligable for minitwins so long as the frame is not modified - you will see from the picture that this is not the case!!

  12. Just about finished and ready for a track day next week. Wheels will be matt black when the owners wheels have new tyres fitted.

  13. Well we have now run the bike at Castle Combe and Snetterton and it is brilliant.

166kg with 4 lt of fuel on board and standard end cans for noise test. We haven't started with making the engine lighter yet.

Better still after a customer tested it at Snetterton yesterday we now have a request to build one more and a tentative enquiry for another.

It is the best handling bike I have ridden - full stop. Even though as a standard 800cc engine, and was truly mullered along the Snetterton straights by anything over 600cc, it still went under and around the outside of quite a few 'big' bikes.

All in all a good day.

  14. It does look skeletal! Well done on the order! :upyeah:

  15. Light is good:upyeah:
