  2. And welcome to the forum

  3. Hello :upyeah:, and hopefully someone can help you.

  4. Hi Lee
For starters:- possibly unconnected and a long shot but have you used it in a heavy downpour or given bike a jetwash recently?

  5. Hi Chris thanks for reply
No mate but everything cleaned out with wd40 as I was going along changing bolts. as it happens I've changed the relays swapped them round turned ignition now I've got just dash flicking , relays clicking as if dead battery but battery is reading good voltage , is this the old demon VR ...

And thankyou all for the welcome shame it's not on a better note but is what it is ‍♂️

  6. Good thinking, you may well be right, symptoms correct for regulator. With this ECU, if the battery is low, or if the incoming voltage/current is low due to some reason, like starter churning or an additional draw somewhere (misbehaving regulator being one) then an injector fault can be flagged erroneously for this reason alone. I also learnt from trial and error, that the flag can remain for a while until the system keeps rechecking and decides to clear it. I.e., it’s easy to think that you have the same, additional fault the next day, but it could be merely the “ghost “flag from the day before rather than the fault repeating again if you follow what I’m saying. The fact that you have got the physical evidence of the engine not performing correctly could partly throw this out of course, and makes diagnosing a little more difficult but can still be an additional symptom linked with failing regulator.

  7. Think I've found the source of the problems , VR cable shorting out . received_4523806257693755.jpeg received_479494823010252.jpeg

  8. you have found it, beyond a doubt*, although it's the connector itself that has failed for starters, there are many threads on here on how to replace/what to replace Regulator with, beware loads of cheap imposters out there on EBay.

*obviously can't rule out shorting out, but far more common that the spade connectors go high resistance and run hot as a result.
