Thanks everyone. A friend of mine is doing this first, and looks like he's getting some end caps made up for him. I may just go ahead and get some myself.
I'm curious as to the thickness of the alloy that has the 4 mounting holes in it, it looks at least 10mm
They are very substantial, maybe thicker than strictly required but certainly shouldn't fail. On the other hand, I doubt there's enough material on the original Ducati bearing cap to drill and tap for this modification?
Not the same motor but I took these photo's at the Historic National Titles at Collie West Australia in 2019. They use a feed to the cam bearing caps from a junction on the oil cooler that was mounted near the headstock on the frame.
