  1. Out of the 4 main contractors we usually work with to build stands for our exhibitions, only one is left, 70% of their work force gone and currently clinging on by their fingernails.

  2. From what I gather from who I’ve spoken to business wise. The government money isn’t even covering rent in many circumstances.

As usual, the tax payers getting pumped

  3. That’s bad very bad, every time my phone goes at work I expect that I’ll be binned off the contract I’ve been working on for the last 5 years.

My client has been super busy has struggled to get workers hence why I’ve stayed in work but that can’t last for much longer. Once their work starts to dry up they’ll replace me with their own employees.

I’ve saved as much of my earnings as I could paid my mortgage off last Month so I’m debt free for the impending economic fallout. But many others are in far worse positions than me and haven’t had the options I have.

  4. I turn 30 in January.

Honestly the likely economic fall out to this is terrifying.

I’ve worked so very hard to get to where I am in life and won’t go down without a fight. The Government can get fucked.

  5. Whilst some people won’t understand this.

If they shut the gyms, not only does it effect people’s physical health massively it’s also their mental health as well. In a sector that doesn’t really contribute to Covid spreading ..

meanwhile one of the highest areas (education) is staying open... madness

  6. Can't someone just be brave and tell people what they don't want to hear...anyone? Anyone at all?

It'd be refreshing if nothing else

  7. I will if you’re sure ?

  8. I do keep fit on line and I would be lost without my half hour twice a week, to close gyms would be a mental health disaster along with isolation

  9. Speaking clearly out loud here. I really wasn’t in a good place last time.

some of the strongest people I know I watched crumble.

I’m happy to admit I’m scared of that. Much more so than Covid.

  12. Right,

    Batman isn’t real.

    Eastenders is NOT real life.

    Thunderbirds wasn’t that good.

Leaving the EU might be ok.

    DSOTM is boring.

Boris didn’t realise it was dark outside.

Science isn’t always like real life.

    Mrs Browns Boys isn’t funny.

that do for now, don’t want to upset too many people ?

  14. Oh I've recently had a wobble, a proper one too, took me a couple of weeks to admit it but I did

Couldn't watch a single episode of a series without zoning out, wasn't sleeping right, felt down and sorry for myself....oh shit yeah, I wobbled big time and I've never, ever wobbled for anything

But I'm not doing it anymore, simply won't roll over and just let it happen you know.

Told the Mrs, told a couple of mates, started smashing out the gym and swimming a lot and we decided to get out there and live a bit instead of hiding away....hence why I'm down London and have just had two days of me and the Mrs just enjoying ourselves.

Honestly, I'm not going to hide it, I was in a shit place and that's half the reason why I won't just sit back and pretend this current strategy is even remotely sensible....because it just isn't.

Chin up pal, do something for yourself

  15. I hear you mate. This is exactly why I’m dreading them shutting gyms. It’s my sanctuary. When they opened my mindset changed drastically.

Nice to see some positivity on this forum and bringing the community together rather than the divide that the press and the government have been bringing

  16. I happily joke about all this stuff, think it’s my way of coping with it all.

Not qualified in any way but would be happy to listen or chat with someone if they needed it.
