Has anyone fitted a Ducati OEM quick shifter to a Monster 1200 2018? The mechanics are straight forwards, where does the plug connect and does the ECU need flashing for it to work?
Not sure about 1200, but 2018 Monster 821 and 2017 Supersport 939 both use the same part number QS, both easy to fit, plug is in front of QS inside a black plastic cup type thing. Dealer needs to enable it.
I wouldn't bother with the standard Ducati QS on the 1200, it's shite at normal everyday speeds so unless you ride at over 8k all the time it's a waste of money.
Yet it works very well on both of our bikes. More sport orientated than the one on my BMW, but does not need 8k revs.
I've got a monster 1200s and hate the quick shifter so have disabled it. I also have an R1200r and the quick shifter on that is better but I would prefer it without (cannot be disabled). I hardly ever go above 5k on either bike.
I put a Healtech on my Monster. I use it when in the mood, usually use the clutch but when I’m up for fun, it is fun. I need to adjust a couple of gears, timing wise. Just haven’t got round to it. As stated in previous posts by others 1 to 2 is presently a bit lumpy and 5 to 6 can occasionally miss if you don’t hoof it positively enough. Mind you you’re really moving by the time you’re shifting between those two. As it works perfectly well through the required gears I haven’t bothered to fine tune it, even though it’s all done via a simple app on the phone.
