1260 Ducati Multistrada 1260 V4 !! 190hp

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by victit, Jul 9, 2019.

  1. I'm hooked by the tech, but the swingarm looks awful, and unpainted. I could live with a 19" if I had to, but so far I'm not sure if I want to drop a load more money.

I'm in a bit of a predicament, as mine is going in for the full system next week, so do I stick to that plan, or use that money towards a V4S Sport???!!!!

  2. Personally, I would say stick with your plan and get the full system fitted and see what develops over the next few weeks/months and just enjoy what you have.

  3. There's obviously a further release coming because it simply doesn't replace the PP.
Cheaper and not as sporty, looks to have too much Japanese influence. And a 19" front. no no no....

  5. I can't find the S Sport on the configurator yet?

I love the paintwork on this version.

BUT if I specced it in the configuration I want vs what I would buy normally (S with travel and radar plus extra lights) then it's about an extra £1,600 for the exhaust and carbon mudguard I'm not bothered about just to get that nice paint job.

All academic as I'm not going to be changing for at least a year.

  6. but but but it's got a 19" front wheel , a shorter first gear and increased ground clearance for all that off road riding we do on heavy 170bhp 20 grand plus bikes :neutral:
Try a forged 17" front wheel and decent sized rear to fit a proper road tyre on, lots of carbon, a full system and a carbon cover to try and hide that hidious swingarm and not forgetting semi active Ohlins front and rear, oh yeah and fit Stylema calipers to it as well !!

As someone said it has all the feeling of a BMW in a Ducati mask.:bucktooth:

  7. Its not on the configurator - yet

Plus prices on configurator and model listings appear off a bit? maybe OTR costs?

  8. No major gripes from me, some good progressions, but without a lottery win and accounting for the loss already on my 1200 Enduro, I think I will stick?

  9. Here you go...... V4S with all the extras.

  10. The tech wizardry is impressive, the looks (IMHO) are not.

As others have said, the focus on off-road capabilities is a bit odd, but as they appear to have dropped the Enduro model from the range the 'all-roads' buzzword bingo makes sense. Still, I won't be taking £20k+ off-road with my limited ability, it wouldn't end well.

A quick flick through the accessories reveals the the side stand extender is a mere £91, but that's because it's made by Rizoma :astonished:

Still, it would be rude not to have a test ride or two next year, just to see if the 19" front wheel makes any sense.

  12. Not convinced by the Ducati App Sat Nav... judging on the previous electronics (I've found it impossible to get a simple Phone/Music/SatNav/Intercom connection working properly on my 1260).

Personally I like the looks, 19" front doesn't bother me or the new swinging arm.
Don't see why anyone would pay all that extra for spoked rims?

  13. The size comparison of the new vs old engine was interesting

  14. Makes you wonder why its so heavy?

  15. According to that nice Mr Dominicale's video the satnav is all done through your phone via the Sygic app and Ducati Connect to your dash. I will guess all the other stuff is too ??

I know what you mean about actually getting them to connect though !

  16. That's the way I'm leaning tbh. It doesn't look as sporty as the 1260, that's for sure.

  17. I had a play, and adding the full system to the base bike, or the bike with the full set of packs is exactly the same, yet the Akra end can is £1300 ish, so surely the full system on a bike with the full packs should 'only' be around £1k????

I'm also thinking that the S Sport may be the new Pikes Peak, as it comes with the carbon front mudguard, different paint scheme and upgraded silencer as standard, the same as the PP did? But no Ohlins or 17" front wheel, so maybe not.

    I have a headache now!

  18. Please don't post pictures of that monstrosity in here.

  19. Sorry :worried: But it does look so similar.. :sob: ( I had one ..... it was rotten, worst handling bike ive had in years and when discussing my high speed wobbles with Triumph I was asked " what do you expect with a 19" front, you're trying to ride it like a sportsbike, have you ever seen a 19" front on a sportsbike? )

  20. Pictures may lie. Better to see in flesh yet I would have expected the enduro to continue and have this v4 as a touring/sport model with an Italian flair which sadly is missing. Guess too much influence from mother Audi.
