1260 Ducati Multistrada 1260 V4 !! 190hp

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by victit, Jul 9, 2019.

  1. Some very good points there, and I'm sure you're not the only one thinking it. I've had A LOT of GS's over the years (over 10!), and couldn't wait to get away from BMW. What you've said here nails it for me, I'll be keeping my 1260......

Until I see a V4PP or R in the flesh, and all reason goes out the window! :D

  2. GaryO - agree 100% with your sentiments.

It's been discussed elsewhere in this place but an updated Supersport with a better dash, ''regular' cruise control, Ohlins and a more powerful engine would be an interesting move. Price it around £15k and it would be in the sweet spot.

  3. The 939 version is £14k. I think it would be much closer to £20k if they made one.

  4. Whatever the spec and the price I think we can agree there is now a gaping hole in the V4 line up for a road focused V4 GT or Sports Tourer. How, or indeed, if it will be filled we can only speculate.

  8. Also coming out are Monsters which no longer use the trellis frame design and use the 939 engines. Plus a new Pani V4 SP (carbon wheels) too. Lots of changes afoot.

  9. The one on the left is the one id choose

Oops!! i already did, and love it!!

  10. Just run me through the thinking behind the trellis frame on the rear end? It’s ugly. Is it cheaper than the cast one on the previous model?

I just don’t get the logic of developing a new V4 engine and putting it in an ‘Off Roader’.

Off roading with a £20k+ machine, you’d have to be nuts on various levels.

  11. Why is the one side of the Engine Gold and the other side Silver?

  12. The more I look at it, compared to the 1260, the more unimpressed I am. I was expecting to really like it, but I feel disappointed at what’s been revealed.

  13. Just read the specs. Final nail for me 170 rear tyre.

  14. Not for me, looks like a cross between a GS/ KTM and a Triumph with a premium price tag too.

  15. Yeah an extra few hp and an extra few kg? With no 17” front and rear option? Hard to imagine it being that popular really...having said that would love to have a ride!

  16. The more I look at it the worse it gets. I really wanted to like it. 170 rear, 19” front really puts me off as does the swingarm.

  17. The upper mounts (forward and rear) are plain to see, but I can see no support for the bottom of the pannier on photos of either side of the bike.

  18. I would imagine, the lower mounts will come off the passenger footpegs, not standard without luggage!!
