  1. Well no need to say you were not there all you do is say can you show me it was my bike and it was parked illegally as I can not remember how I parked.

If you want to be proper naughty you go cloned plate route ;)

  2. Cannot I never take photo of where I park as I do not have to prove to myself I parked or not.
It also appears Westminster also does not have to do above so no photo.

It is funny how so many defend council. Remember if they start winning cases like this (or do not get disputed) sooner or later other councils will pick up on that. When it is finally norm they might extend it to let's say speeding tickets.
No need for prove you were speeding just a word of a guy they employed of the corner to tell them who was speeding and when..... jobs done.

  3. A Police Officer doesn't need a photo to give you a speeding ticket so what's the difference??

  4. Someone i know, absolutely not me officer/magistrate, always plays the game. They even once after being stopped for speeding, took their copy of the ticket, put it under a strong a UV light where upon all the carbon copied lettering disappeared. Took their licence to the local station, who couldn't take the licence as they didn't know why they'd taking it. When the summons duly arrived along with the court date they said they didn't know why they were stopped, or handed a blank ticket, but provided evidence of taking the licence to the police station. The court, seeing the blank ticket, and police station proof, believed the defendant had done all they could to prevent a court appearance, appologised for the inconvenience due to a police procedural error and dismissed the case. RESULT  made even better by seeing the officers face turn from smug to dismayed when the waving of his half the ticket at the magistrate was met with a disapproving look and a hand signal instructing him to put his arm back down.
If the end result is only paying what you owe, GAME ON!!

  5. There is provision for that in law, last time I seen it (mind you long time ago) it did not include traffic warden.

  6. Keep up the good work, Lucasz. Councils need to be kept on their toes to make sure they don't get lazy.

  7. Yep, keep them on their toes and spending the hard earned cash paid by the locals in council tax :upyeah:

oh and don't take any responsibility for your actions while you're at it

  8. If they did a proper job of it, then there would be no way of exploiting loopholes.

I'm sure the poor people of Westminster will be happy to see their pennies being spent on incompetent monkeys and systems.

  9. Ar right, not a proper job like sticking a ticket on it? Lambast parking wardens or mini hitlers, whichever phrase people prefer, but imagine how much worse London and other big cities would be without the fear of them issuing tickets? Rather a person than a camera.

Being nabbed by a sneaky camera tucked away on a clear country road where its pretty safe to make progress is one thing but knowing youre parking illegally, for years, and whinging when you get caught is another.

Makes me think what else is being ignored. Council tax? Road tax? Insurance? PAYE?

  10. Given they seem to know the loopholes, then yes, not a proper job.

is it not a case of laws/rules being tested? Maybe he will lose and waste a lot of time and energy, me, I would just stump up and avoid the waste of time, but each to their own.

  11. It is a game, and Lucasz is right to play it. At the end of the day, why should you pay rent on a piece of asphalt or concrete at all? It's just a way of collecting taxes. There really isn't any right and wrong. Rules are imposed and it is the citizen's right to make things as difficult as possible for the authorities to impose them, if they aren't particularly fair. Why should you pay for parking a bike in any case? Far from being applauded for reducing traffic congestion, you are just a wallet like everyone else.

I say fair play to him, if he can be bothered. I think bike parking should be free.

  12. If he's got a ticket after being there for one minute, then he's obviously not in a parking bay or run out on the meter but somewhere where you're not supposed to park full stop.

They park on the double yellows in my road and lorries have to do an 18 point manoeuvre to get round the bend, the kids coming out of school can't see whats coming on the crossing and it's chaos, I'd like more traffic wardens round here.

  13. Be careful what you wish for.

  14. NIMBY.......
