  1. “Biden’s mother’s maiden name was Finnegan,” one diplomatic source said. “This guy is a fully paid-up member of the Irish caucus. He’s looking forward to a triumphal visit as president to his Irish roots, as they always do. So this is critical. The more constructive and positive an outcome on Brexit the better that is for [the] government’s relationship with Biden. If we end up with no deal and the unilateral rewriting of the withdrawal agreement you can forget a free trade deal.”

What's a polite way of saying BoJo is fooked?

  5. No matter whether a Republican or Democrat in power a trade deal with the Americans would have been a tough ask. They’re not likely to want to give us an advantage in trade, we as a country need to understand that America as any other country or trading bloc just won’t.

  9. Any trade deal with America would have always had to be passed by Congress. They have always said they aren't going to pass any deal if Boris throws Ireland under the bus. From that perspective nothing much has changed. What has changed that is that America now has a more predictable president who has already said he wants to rebuild relations with Europe. That also plays into the EUs hand as a possible trade deal with the US is better for them than any free trade deal with the UK could ever be (350 million people versus 60 million)
My prediction is that Boris will cave in the next week and we will get a quite basic trade deal, sign up to competition equivalence rules, give away fishing rights and sell it as a massive win. Only it won't be as it's going to be a fudge and it will in no way be better than what we have enjoyed within the EU.

  10. It will be worse than what we currently have, because we won't have a voice at the top table anymore when the rules are being made.

  11. Do you think that it’s dawned on BloJob and his chums yet?

  12. At the current rate of spending, they will call an Election (and lose it) in spring, just to get away from the blame of bankrupting the country and a bolloxed up Brexit.

I expect Dildo will have a few quid left over to share out from the Track and Trace budget to tide them over though. I mean how much does an old copy of Excel cost these days? Doris has given her £12Billion apparently...

  13. I never understood the notion that the EU made rules for us when in fact the UK was always at the table making the rules. We won't have more freedoms but less, freedom of movement being one example. Well I won't have less as I have dual nationality. I look forward jumping the queue at airports going to the EU as well as coming back ;)

  17. Remember the world laughing when Trump threw his hat into the ring? It’s taken them more than 4 years by fair means or foul to shoehorn him out....
