Covid-19: Stop anti-vaccination fake news online with new law says Labour https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-54947661 “Labour said a commitment by platforms to remove content flagged by the government was not enough.” Now they want to remove anything that asks questions about what’s going on.
As I sit here now, with a confirmed COVID diagnosis and on day 10 of feeling really rather crap, as well as having to self isolate the whole family for another 9 days, i would take a vaccine!!!
Get well soon My best friends sister is fighting for her life she was rushed by ambulance last Saturday with a “chest infection” tested positive for covid and put on a ventilator as her heart and kidneys were struggling. There were signs of improvement in the week but now hope is dwindling I’m gutted I cannot support my bestie at this time when she has been with me on my Myeloma journey
all the best for her, the chest and lungs bit is no joke, I'm at probably 50% capacity and getting out of breath, it's the most worrying part, it's literally a case of every day that passes I hope I'm further out the woods. Mine has been pretty mild compared to a lot of people, but even so I've got a really clear understanding just how bloody scary this is for people ending up in hospital
Was meant to be a bit tongue in cheek, Labour saying there should be a law to allow government to insist social media stuff can be removed if they want.
The blatant lies which are posted result in two things: Damage to Health/ NHS Many people do not have vaccinations and become ill . Costs of remedial treatments required cost taxpayers millions. The public never reaches herd immunity with vulnerable people being badly affected Individuals making poor ill advised decisions result in their children's deaths (eg measles) Wealth creation Secondly Google, Facebook and the posters like David Icke make millions from advertising revenue.
That is a giant leap from allowing idiots to cause all the aforementioned problems, especially as no one has said only the government will be allowed to issue information regarding vaccinations.
There’s already crap in social media about vaccines, has been for years. Why is this different though. I agree it’s a big leap, but still a step in the wrong direction.
A step to clear the media from blatant repeated lies is not such a bad thing at all imo. Obviously if this led to draconian censorship it would be a different thing altogether, but that is not likely. If the BBC were properly run they would expose these lies for what they are.
It’s a scary line to walk that one. Very close to silencing people who’s opinions differ from the government ... aka dictatorship. And as we know, they get stuff wrong - a lot. this ‘fact checking’ thing is bull shit as well. Basically means they’re checking everything that’s counter or not in agreement to the governments message. But how many U turns have they made??? They can’t even get it right themselves so they’re checking other statements against wrong facts ffs.
Do the establishment get more things wrong than someone like Icke? Whilst Icke makes millions, the economy is damaged from people being afraid to have a CV19 shot? Surely journos on the BBC should expose the bollox scare stories instead of making programs about dancing & baking cakes?
Listening to the radio this morning, they had an "expert" virologist ? on commentating on the fact there could be another vaccine on the way, and this one is supposed to be 95% effective. Anyway the discussion went on and the xpert then said there had been problems in the past with some vaccines, one of them being a flu vaccine, but it was ok as the problems normally, I repeat, normally, show up within a couple of months I'm not sure whether I'd be a beta tester or not, but having said that though, for the very first time in my life I had the flu and pneumonia jab last month. Not noticed anything strange happening to me yet though
