  1. Like speeding :upyeah:

  2. Snap. One stand out was Cadwell, won first race and second race fighting last lap for the win with 3 others and front brake seized end of park. Knocked out for a short period. Managed to get away without medical intervention...

Back in paddock, double vision, massive swelling on my arm and headache. Codeine, 6 pints of beer and big concussion later I won the Sunday race and was a tenth off the lap record for class.

I did end up in hospital Monday tho as I could barely walk straight....great times :sob::sob::sob::joy:

  3. To be fair he has a legal team of experts paid handsomely to protect him, he rides motorbikes the blame rests with a legal team who most definitely have not given the advice he obviously needed...the trouble with appealing is it can backfire in a big way and penalty increase .... he has lost his career and a few million quid he’ll end up like that little fat wild guy from Australia or America or wherever

  4. I think Hodgson was right when he said Iannone’s MotoGP career was over long before the positive test. He’s been a factory Ducati and Suzuki rider but whilst undoubtedly hugely talented his results have been inconsistent to say the least.

  5. It was an Anabolic Steroid. Of course it was to assist his performance on the bike.

He will be missed because he provided entertainment. He was never getting back into MotoGP.

  6. I read that this particular steroid would have hampered his performance and caused him to gain weight ?

  7. This, https://anabolika.de/en/drostanolone-propionate, explains why it is used by bodybuilders. Anabolic steroids are also used by some beef farmers to bulk up the animal. In the US, the practice is controlled and certain AS are approved, drostanolone not being one. Asia however has a reputation for being less concerned about what they inject into their meat animals but drostanolone is very expensive and as stated in the CAS finding, is unlikely to be used. 8. I can’t personally understand how anyone would reap any real benefit from such a substance in the sport.

obviously it’s part of a family of banned substance so no questions a no no. But even so, I really can’t see what benefit he would have got.

  9. From what I read of the article the steroid in question aids recovery as is not as such taken for muscle gain but for recovery from injury.

It matters not if he benefited from taking it it’s just the fact he was caught with it in his body during competition.

  10. Yeah I know that mate. Pretty obvious

I just couldn’t fathom why he’d choose that in particular. Maybe it was to aid his plastic surgery recovery

    who knows

  11. Only him his Doctor or manager would know this, I doubt he’d have taken it without knowing what it did and would think he was advised/told to take it.

  12. Don't bank on that. Plenty of clients reject advice and go shit or bust, or simply think that they know best and can BS their way through a hearing.

I was wondering why a bike racer would take steroids to bulk up when most of them go the opposite way and keep themselves jockey-sized for power/weight purposes. However, as you point out, the article that el toro linked to says:

“Although it is not for WADA to put forward an alternative scenario,” it explained in its evidence, “the presence of drostanolone, which can be used for muscle recovery purposes, could be linked to an injury suffered by Mr Iannone in September 2019 during the San Marino Grand Prix.

WADA contended that the injury caused Mr Iannone to be withdrawn from the San Marino Grand Prix and referred to a statement of Mr Iannone as to the need to recover from this injury as quickly as possible.

Iannone suffered multiple crashes on Friday and Saturday of the race at Misano last September, aggravating an old injury to his left shoulder and withdrawing from the race ahead of qualifying.

He then raced at the Aragon Grand Prix only five days later, coming home 11th – one of his best results of the year up to that point."

  13. Does anyone see the strange similarity with cycling? Do you think Mark Markez PBUH could be taking a little time off the find a new training regimen? One without packing red blood cell, HGH, or the like.

  14. Entirely different sport imho when it com to the need of stimulants.

From the wada c0mments, sounds like a doc said ‘this will help’ and Iannone has been a bit f*cked over.

  15. These guys are elite athletes. Cycling is in many cases the best cross training they have. I know Crutchfield trains with Mark Cavendish. All elite athletes have a VO2 max way beyond mortals ability to process oxygen. It would not surprise me to find any rider looking for that last 3% in injectables. At the very least blood doping with their own packed cells. I agree Iannone was screwed. He truly brought "mania" to his riding.
