Hi All Been looking at paddock stands for the new bike I pick up on Thursday. What ones would you recommend for an 848 Evo? some of the cheaper one look a bit.flimsy IMO. Harris ones looked ok though...
Proper Ducati stands are rock solid, Harris box section ones are nice as well. Don't bother with the cheapie stands, most are crap especially the ones that bolt together in the middle, they wobble.
Thanks. Just been looking at the Abba stand. Looks easy to use in the video, but as you state, it's a bolt together one... Has anyone used the front lift adapter with one of these stands?
The ABBA stand won't wobble, they're rock solid, but too much if you just want to do a bit of cleaning or chain lubricating.
Yeh, agree Anth. I have an Abba as well and it is solid but a bit of a slaver on when you can just lift the bike in seconds using the Ducati one. When I said the 'bolt together ones' I meant some of those on ebay, think they are m&p or something
If you only want one stand, buy an Abba stand. They do fitting kits for most bikes so it doesn't matter if you later change your bike. Personally, I don't find it any bother to put the bike on an Abba stand for chain lube and cleaning, but then, I don't have a handier, expensive, Ducati stand to hand as well!
I got a £50 one from busters accessories I took a chance I thought it might be shit and flimsy but it's absolutely solid and great quality for the money
Yea I know what you mean about the wobbly ones I've got too crap bolt together ones ive used on previous bikes but the latest one I got was spot on
Lovely pieces of kit and decent price too. And UK company RS16 Single Sided Motorcycle Paddock Stand for Monolever Bikes
Going through the same process right now. I really fancy one of these. Not sure if they do one for the 848 but might be worth an email. Ahh, MotoMfg do one.
They do.....I nearly bought one.......but the bit they don't tell you is you leave part of it permanently attached to your bike which unfortunately looks hideous.
If you know it's there?? Doesn't have Ninja stealth type qualities does it. That's the multistrada, the 848/1098 is similar if not more protruding. You notice it's there every time your boot gets snagged on it when you ride. I'd love one.....but not with that on my bike, I wish they could come up with something better.
I gonna watch this thread as I am in the same boat for my recently purchased Panigale. Contacted Abba and they said it isnt compatible. Want a reasonable stand that doesnt cost silly money - so a balancing act between quality and cost only really need it to lube chain etc so dotn want to spend £150+ on something Kwack
I took a trip to the Abba factory to see the stand in action as it were - very impressed! Had to go that way yesterday anyway. Ordered a stand with the bits that make the front raise as well... Still going to get some paddock stands as well, but not so urgent now... Think a Termi slip on conversion is on the cards next!
I just bought a Pit Bull stand for my Panigale, not cheap (Especially when I added shipping to the price), but the quality is absolutely amazing, also you can use single handedly without risk of dropping the bike in the process! that was always my fear with other rear stands.
