Smashed up the z1000 yesterday....nice lady pulled across my path on a crossroads 2 mins from my house....feeling a bit Steven Segal this morning (wooden) pretty sore all over on the whole but otherwise ok....not a great deal of damage to the zed - crash protection did a bang up job (pardon the pun) but ironically as i slid under the front of the car the facing up side took the brunt opening the rad, smashing the front mudguard along with bending the front disk and other bits and pieces...
So sorry to hear that and what an inconvenience these folk throw at us on the on the roads these days.the main thing is your still with us.
Yeah - im fine....when i was on the phone to the insurance company i said "ooh - just got a text from her insurance.." to which he replied "if they do that it means they know theyre driver is totally liable so they try to get in first to sort you out..." - "if you get a call from them theyre definately bang to rights...." - i got 2 telephone messages from them as well..!
Make sure you get everything fixed on the bike as well as yourself, just don't be short changed with the first offer.
It all works differently now....i thought theyd send a guy round to assess the damage but - theyre picking the bike up next wednesday, it goes off to a big warehouse somewhere near Healthrow, gets assesed, repaired and sent back....
Hectic week ... now at Santander after an early morning dash from above madrid was at Alicante marina yesterday and saw this private yacht I need to know who’s owning it I got the triumph and two Mx bikes in plus all sorts of other bits ... been a hectic 6 days
The crash protection has done it's job and agree it doesn't look that bad maybe later you can do a full assessment and come up with an opinion on your thoughts on whether they will write it off or not?
My ready reckoning (looking at the main parts last night) no more than 2k.....theres no way i want it written off and if it does i want it back...fucking love that bike....best bike ive ever had period....
But still a tidy penny with the fork leg / carbon front mudguard etc,try and have a word when you dropped it off with the boys about can you've the old bits returned F.O.C.?
That's the kicker when it is a bike you love, i know it's not in the same league but i was gutted when my C90 Cub was obliterated fucking loved that thing, my old faithful work horse, couldn't buy it back because when i mean obliterated it was!!
Very sorry to hear that. At least you didn’t come off too badly, which is the main thing. Be warned though, it doesn’t take much for them to write off a bike now. Good luck with it.
