3rd Operation For Marquez

  1. Oh dear. It’s all getting a bit ‘Hutchy’

  2. You wonder how he’ll react. He was 100% or nothing and happy to take such high risks. Now he’s had a potential career ending or limiting injury, will he be as gung ho with his and everyone’s safety!

  3. Yep....

  4. All that from a patio door? Who was holding the latch on the other side; Dovi?
Still, a shame. Hope he gets fit. No life changing injury is what anyone wants. Let alone a champion at the pinnacle of his career.

  5. It’s not looking good is it.

the guy has absolutely phenomenal skill and bravery.

But as we know, finding the limit by crashing a lot does come at a price. We’ve seen it throughout motorsports history. A lot of the greats adopt it.. and it doesn’t often end well.

bloody shame, hope he gets back

  6. Marquez has been very fortunate up until THAT crash. He always walked away and you begin to feel invulnerable. Now this has changed and the injury and/or healing process is obviously worse that anticipated. I don’t care who you are, it will always be in the back of your mind when you get even a slip or unexpected twitch or a sniff of a high-side. I don’t doubt that if he does return, then his talent will shine through but he will no longer be pushing his limits. I hope he does heal, but without him, then we have witnessed a brilliant and memorable season of MotoGP.

  7. I read this yesterday and wondered if it was the beginning of the end?

  8. The report the other day reckoned a third op would need a recovery time of six months or more.

I bet we see Dovi on his bike next year.

  9. Pseudarthrosis or nonunion is a disease that occurs when a broken bone fails to heal after a fracture unless intervention (surgery) is performed. The fracture structurally resembles a fibrous joint, and for this reason, is called “false joint” or pseudoarthrosis.

Sod that for a game of soldiers, even a graft is never as strong, hopefully he makes it back but I doubt he will be the same MM93

  10. You never really know do you

but it does seem like marcs impatience hasn’t helped

  11. It was inevitable a pretty serious injury was on the cards wasn’t it. You can only ride your luck for so long before the law of averages catches up. But yes it’s all been said in previous posts above, it seems impossible that he can risk riding on the edge like he does and I’m sure his brain alone won’t let him .terrible shame but does open the door for more competitive racing

  12. With how this has turned out, it probably wasn't a good idea to ride so soon after the initial injury.

  15. Yeah I’d expect getting back on the bike a week later and ripping the plate out of the bone again didn’t do many favours, grafting a bit of your hip seems extreme

  16. One thing is certain, Marquez will be in the hands of the leading specialists in all areas of whatever expertise is required, giving him an excellent chance, together with his super-fitness, of making the best physical recovery possible.

The hip, being a large bone structure is a great source for donor bone - as I found out, when they grafted a chunk to remake my right orbit - I now see with a bit of a limp...

  19. You have to wonder about that, he should’ve been kept off the bike longer the first time but whether it’s the team, his personal managers, sponsors or whoever let him go out there they didn’t do what was in his best interests then
