For Sale 2008 1098s Unfinished Project £6250

  1. Morning Ducatisti,

Saddens me to say I’ve been swayed by the allure of a Germanic inline 4 and will have to sell or break my unfinished 1098S project bike to fund my new bike.

If it stops raining/snowing I’ll get some more photos

So I have a 2008 1098S with just less than 8k on the clock. Belts and valves were done earlier this year so bike is ready to go. The bike has some nice additions listed below

    • billet forsaken motorsport adjustable yokes
    • Gilles rearsets
    • Carbon swingarm cover
    • Folding vtech levers
    • Front and rear carbon mudguards
    • 70mm termignoni exhaust system with end cans
    • Renthal clip ons
    • Mapped to 157bhp
Why is it unfinished.... there are a couple of bits that need sorting but the bike starts and runs with no warnings.

    to complete....
    • Front and rear brake lines
    • Rear brake master cylinder
    • Side panels are currently in Northampton due to the lockdown
    • Need some front pads
    • Needs a throttle tube grip.
So not much to do on it to be fair.

So wanting £6250 for her which is below what it’s worth with this mileage. (Without the mods we buy any bike have offered me 6600) but I don’t have the time or inclination to stand in a cold garage at the minute to get to saleable point.

Alternative is breaking the bike which would be worth more in parts but again it’s the time, shipping and having to deal with people on ebay in general

    Any questions please ask.

bike is in Leeds, West Yorkshire.

  4. What’s the history, how many owners?
Why is it in the condition it is in now?
Has the bike seen any track use or just road?

  5. Do you have standard parts to go with the bike ?

  6. morning,

3 previous owners, HPI clear, not been down. Last owner started track riding and decided to convert the bike from the road to a very trick track bike. I got the bike in a deal on my R1M with the intention of putting it back on the road as a lockdown project. Which is why it’s about 90% complete. To be honest I’ve lost interest in it and torn between stripping it for parts or selling it whole. Thought I’d offer it out there whole before stripping as there is always one who asks for the whole bike the day after you strip it :joy:

still, it’s worth more in parts so if I can muster up the enthusiasm I’ll strip it.

so if anyone needs anything to make the strip decision easier then let me know

  7. Afraid not no.

  8. i think a few more details would have generate real interest as it looks keenly priced
    - do you have any paperwork?
    - who has serviced it and who did belts/valves earlier this year?
    - how many keys?
    - v5 in your name?
    - MOT or if not, what would need to be done other than the bits above to get it road legal?

  9. Provisionally sold cheers
