998 Yellow 998 Mono

Genuine or biposto conversion?

 

Was it a limited production run then.?

 

The 998 looks good in yellow.

 

all 998s should be yellow same as all 748s

 

no way, only sub 750cc Ducati should be Yellow. Outrageous suggestion.

 

More like a limited amount of orders, I would think. In Falloon’s book, for 2002, I see production runs as follow:

998 monoposto yellow:
- Europe: 11
- US: 75
- Japan: 10

998S monoposto yellow:
- Europe: 1
- Japan: 29

It seems red was a lot more popular on bigger bikes. Australian customers were not impressed, it seems.

 

So basically very low numbers worldwide and worth collecting then.

 

Well, maybe in 50 years...

 

Hmmm, it think the special ones are already collectible (sp/sps/R) but I see the 998s also rising in price. A MY02 998S in good condition is fairly pricey at least there asking price is.

 

I won't be here walking terra firma so not my problem.
