I thought I’d sold this fella, but the day before yesterday pn the morning of the day we were scheduled to meet up to do the deal, after making me jump through all sorts of hoops, the buyer pulled out, citing “a change in personal circumstances”. Bloody time wasters
I’ve got the close sibling, the Sea Dweller. Absolute keeper. I asked a dealer two days ago what they were doing now... £8k!!!! Must be a good time to sell? A lot of life stories go with mine which is why it’ll stay in the family. I even had it taken from me during a mock execution. Couldn’t believe they forgot it when they fucked off in a hurry. I was left tied up, face down, looking at my Sea Dweller... thinking ‘how the fuck is that still there’
Sorry. But WTF? "Mock execution"? You can't tell half a story and then leave it like that. £8k or thereabouts is what I advertised it for and accepted an offer which with eBay fees left me with around £7k and change. My ex-fiancee paid, IIRC, £5,850, for it 4 years ago, so it seems the market is buoyant at the mo and she was a b1tch from whom I had a very lucky escape (though not as lucky as yours by the sound of it), so there's no real sentimental value attached
Do you mind if I post my picture of my new Tag Heuer between your conversation. Look forward to hearing how that story ends Anyway usually have a Seiko or G-Shock but thought to get something a bit nicer. Solid, but will see how long the rubber strap lasts.
Armed robbery, Port Harcourt, Nigeria. Middle of the night. While I was on the toilet. I shit you not. Pun intended Oh how we laughed. I wasn’t laughing at the time though
Yeah, my brother has one of the originals. With the irritating perspex (glass) that scratches dead easy. Lovely watch though
Model reference is CAZ1010.FT8024 Just a nice size, quartz movement so easy to deal with and accurate. Quite a solid, reasonably chunky piece of metal. Cost me £957 here in the VAT free Channel Islands. Did not really want to spend a massive amount, just an upgrade from my Casio Mudmaster.
Here’s my latest....please don’t ask, over, the odds but I like it’s classic looks and I’m well chuffed
i lusted after that watch when i used to work in a call centre and it was in the window of the jewellers I passed on the walk home circa 2001
There a jewellers opened in my local town that sells some high end watches I just can’t resist having a little look every time I pass. He has some very expensive watches....
