Very much a generation thing. As an older man, I shall remember her for the cinema. She is of a generation of great British actresses and actors who brought marvellous (if silly) humour to a nation recovering from war and austerity. A time when I remember a nation dealing with adversity a lot better than today. Andy
My late Mum grew up with the Krays, Well, Charlie & R&R, she always said that they were a luvly family and were never a problem as far as she knew! She said Vi ( violet ) and Charlie Snr were luvly too.. ? i think the two sides of a coin saying is apt here Mum... But they used to say “ they never hurt any of their own kind” eg if you did no wrong you wouldn’t have a problem with em but if you hurt someone local, stole from someone or worse, expect a visit.. X
100% behind you on that one Andy as i was watching three students yesterday evening maybe on newsnight ( i don't normally watch it these days as they interrupt every guest that has a valid & reasonable comment to make ) & the male starting crying because of the isolation programme inplace etc.etc.
I have totally heard enough from students discussing how they are hard done by, as they are not having the time of their lives. If Uni is so awful (provided and paid for by everyone else, most never repay the loans) - then fcuk off home and get a job. Still RIP Babs, I will always remember her in the Carry On films, she was funny and extremely exotic to an eight year old & remained that way for many years afterwards -to me at least.
RIP Robert, yesterday, also 83. Loved The Man from Uncle. https://www.radiotimes.com/news/201...ribute-to-robert-vaughn-who-has-died-aged-83/ The Magnificent Seven is on ITV4 tonight at 6.30 https://www.radiotimes.com/film/kb7y9/the-magnificent-seven/
Illya Nickovitch KuryakinIllya said today “I am utterly devastated. Robert and I worked together for many years and losing him is like losing a part of me. My deepest sympathies go out to Linda and the Vaughn family.” RIP Napoleon Solo.
Ha! Thanks Andy, is it April already? i'm always late these days, I still didn't realise that he'd gone.. @Ducbird please close thread, alternatively, leave open for your amusement.
Charley Pride: Country music singer dies of Covid-19 https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-55292500
Not my music genre but for a colourd American to be inducted into a Country music hall of fame most certainly must have had something. A good age but a shame to be cut short by COVID. RIP. Andy
