I’d say a VP of a university getting half a mill plus a free home is more blood-boiling materiel than this
Small beer compared to a lot of stuff going on...and typical of the BBC to try and make a story out of it.
they have done the minimum, to make a story of it, they need to report it all day everyday for a week. example. N/E provost of a certain political persuasion, over claims his expence allowance by thousands, lil bit hidden on their online page. Glasgow provost of another political persuasion underspends her allowance and any that is spent is within the rules, is hounded daily on every bulliten with programs dedicated to her eventually forced to resign.
Senior academics hate the fact that those part-time seat-shiners get paid so much .... take it from me , it's a fact . But it's very bad form to whine about it , don't you know .... ....a bit like a bishop saying to the Archbop of Canterbury - " I really can't get my hat on with all that holy ghost stuff " ..... not a great career move ....
More interested in what the little shit is going to do next than his pay. At least he was fairly visible so we could see what he was up too. Back under the radar now for more extreme political view influence.
I think he deserves it. He’s single handedly run the country and the civil service. I think the boy has been underpaid.
His £45K is feck all compared to the £122M yes, £122M!! paid to the newly formed company PPE Medpro that had no history of supply to the NHS in a contract not put out to tender; who the feck signed that off?? The four directors there are on a nice little earner at tax payers expense! Both stories smacks of cronyism though not what you know etc??
But I have to ask -are you surprised? There are literally dozens of these contracts being cited on the internet. Many -not most- are mates of Tory Ministers, some of their appointments are MPs wives or husbands. Snouts in the trough? These scumbags own a trough each, and its refilled daily with a fountain of YOUR money. I hope that makes you extremely angry, because it should.
No morals and fueled by greed, and do you know what Jez i wouldn't be surprised if the Gov supporters here felt nothing about these revelations it's the way things are these days.
Would you feel differently if it was a labour gov doing it or are you naive enough to believe their morals wouldn't let them? Same sh!t different party springs to mind.
The party affiliation doesn't matter, no one is picking the the Tories, we are just stating facts. If LAB were robbing billions anyone with a brain would say the same thing. https://www.ft.com/content/7bf2fbdc-a26b-476e-a604-fac15ecfc222 https://www.theguardian.com/comment...us-contracts-government-transparency-pandemic https://www.opendemocracy.net/en/da...rm-given-3m-covid-19-contract-without-tender/ https://www.independent.co.uk/indep...id-contracts-nhs-ppe-nao-report-b1724500.html
