Early 1980s Kabuki track bike, which was gifted to me from a friend a couple years ago. We used to ride a lot back then. His neck and some other injuries aren’t compatible with this contraption any more. We still ride together, just heavier bikes and fuel stops these days ...
Pink bikes huh? How 'bout this one then. It's a 1970 Pat Hanlon built by frame-buiding wizard Vic Edwards. I sold it to a friend and built it up for him following a Bob Jackson repaint. When it was finished I deeply regretted selling it, as it rides like a dream. Comfort and responsiveness like no other frame I've ridden.
Just finished this lovely thing ,1973, sat for years in a barn. Not looking forward to any hills steeper than 1in 100.
This time of year I only get to ride after work when it’s dark, cold and wet so treated my feet to these. Only one 2 hour muddy ride so far and they were great, especially compared to my usual mtb shoe & overboots. Stay safe, Doug
Doug do yourself a favour and get some DHB neoprene overshoes , I use them over my Gaerne gore tex mtb boots, you don’t need them for warmth or waterproofing but it saves you so much time cleaning muddy shoes and keeps your shoes looking like new for much longer..
You’re not a million miles from Richmond. Some great cycling over there. I used to struggle with my hands in those conditions. Always bastard freezing
Ha, I bought a hand built bike from him. Complete with campag record. Happy days. He had a 14 year old staffie in the shop. Lovely old dog
I get over to Richmond a fair bit in the decent weather, either on the pushy or the 899 on the way through to Hawes. So much good riding up here, we go out to the North Yorkshire Moors if we want to kill our selves with the climbs around Danby, Grosmont etc, no where is flat over that way! My hands aren’t too bad, I’ve got some lightly insulated Shimano gloves and they work a treat, even on the motorbike when it’s cold, I quite often forget to switch the heated grips on when I’m out on the Kwakker!
Rode from the top of the North Yorks moors to the bottom and back up again. Teesside in the distance. Bloworth crossing. This road is better with 150hp+ as was demonstrated shortly afterwards when 2 Fuglystradas came hooning past. Anyone on here? Old mineral railway line It's a crap cycling time as I keep forgetting to stop the Fitbit when I stop pedalling
Incredible contrast and clarity to your pics, not to mention competition, what camera/phone did you use? (not me on an Ugly - wish it was).
Done Bloworth crossing loads of times, it’s good for cracking out a few miles and doesn’t get too muddy cos it’s shale and drains well, on a nice sunny day you can’t beat the NYM
