1260 Termignoni Full System

  1. Having not seen the full system in person,
can someone tell me if it has 'not for road use' or something similar stamped on it.
Any major dramas from it, police, MOT, insurance etc

  2. Yes it does have for race only or something like that. I've rubbed mine off. Its only on the end can.

  3. There are benefits to having a reduction in police on the roads! :D

  4. I’ve been stopped after being followed for quite some miles in mid wales. Advised that reg plate was a little smaller than standard, no problems, no producer, not even mentioned the can.
(Or did they and I couldn’t hear?)

  5. My last insurance application form made it clear that my insurance would be null and void if the exhaust was illegal

  6. Ducati web site makes it clear the full Termignoni is not road legal for the UK. That said, I don't recall anyone reporting an issue with a traffic officer. Andy

  7. Rub the stuff off, declare it to insurance as a OEM ducati exhaust full system. Job done its an offical brochure option & the police don't care about noisy exhausts in UK. France or other countries might hand you a fine for such naughtyness...your MOT station will declare it as a 'noisy exhaust'.

  8. My Monster exhaust has something like '"Not For Road Use" and was Akrapovič. Whilst I was in hospital, the Police inspected it before being stopped from destroying it by my insurance co (who wrote it off and paid out). Nothing was ever said by anyone.

  9. And it passed MoTs as they don't worry about the exhaust apparently. They never even started the bike up but they would of heard me arrive. It wasn't offensively loud, though.

I guess that the driver who claimed to have not seen me, then couldn't say, "but the bike was very loud - bloody bikers!".

  10. I just took my first rides with the full system to get the map loaded - it seemed offensively loud in my garage without the db killer, but not particularly loud with it in today, drowned out by the wind noise at steady cruise. Going to take a ride with it out, maybe I don’t need it.

  11. DB killer never been in mine, termi from new, love it.
Fantastic next to a car a traffic lights, chap on his phone, massive rev and a couple of bangs from me. Police look straight at me from the other side of the lights, I point at car, police give thumbs up and pulled him. :upyeah:

  12. Thanks for all the replies. Mine is now on order and will hopefully arrive next week. Looking forward to getting it fitted :)

  13. ANGLE GRINDERS ARE VERY USEFUL.. Carbon Wheels would be my first port of call though.

  14. Exhaust arrived first...:)

  15. Gave mine its first test ride with the full termi over the weekend.
Tried it with baffles in on Saturday bout 100 mile sounded nice not to loud but give it some its loud.
Sunday took baffles out not much louder but sounds much better more popping when using QS its additive.
    Plus bike seems smoother

  16. Thats promising. I’ve not ridden mine yet, as the roads are covered in crap, and the bike is currently cleaner than it was when it was new!

  17. I’m going to echo what Melvin said - I just took a ride without the baffle, and it’s perfect. A little louder and a better sound than stock, hard to resist rolling off to hear the snaps/crackles/pops. I’m not a fan of loud pipes, this one is just right. I run the baffle in the full Spark exhaust on my Ninja 400, I think it’s still louder than my Multi with no baffle.

DB killer is going in a box, don’t need it.

  18. I've had the full termi system since new, tried the dB killer once and now it stays in the top box just incase the constabulary decide to have a word.

On motorways, it's not audible until you give it some beans, but cruising it's perfectly fine. It's the best exhaust note I've had since the 748 with termi end cans.

  19. Hi,
I have the full race system on my 1260 Enduro, it is loud - but lovely-too loud? Well maybe but I wouldn’t go back to the standard, I would however have it a little quieter if it was an option.

Yes it has not for road use-race use only on lt. But easily removable.

I’ve not ever had any problems with the police with the Multistrada or any of my other bikes-all have full systems, GSAs, Tuono(very loud) But I’m always careful in towns / built up areas to keep the revs/noise down and I’ve done a lot of miles!

The only thing that was a difficult choice with the Multi exhaust was the cost for what you get-around £2000! For a Termi system? It doesn’t even include the full headers! It’s more a silencer with a couple of link pipes and the quality is not anything like a full Akrapovic system, especially a Akrapovic titanium system but they don’t do one for the Enduro ok you get an up-map but would I do it again? Not so sure

    Hope this helps

  20. I do agree that it's not worth the money but it does sound nice and it's not as nice looking as the stubby termi end can.
What did you use to rub the writing off the termi?
