  1. Cos trouble makers are mentalists. And mentalists are a great shag. Fact.

"Nice"girls aren't a great shag, but they do make great sandwiches. Another fact.

  2. This was left on my drive by my father in law with a boot full of parts. It's been under a sheet in his garage for 10 years. So fuel pump first, strip and clean the points. New points, distributor cap, rotor, leads, plugs and battery. Tried to start and all the fuel lines burst, perished. So new lines fitted and fired it up. Up to temp and then the radiator cooling pipes exploded everywhere. The joys of restoration. Give me a bike any day.
    wooops sorry about the pic

  4. Met up with with Mr C. and Freak, had a blat to Barmouth :upyeah:

  5. I spent the day in glorious sunshine at Castle Combe watching the bike racing

  6. Went to MR who sorted my electrics and immobiliser

Met Shadow and his bro earlier checking out 1199's

    Had a nibble later

  7. Have eaten my entrecĂ´te and now, like a snake, I'm going to crawl under a bush and digest it for a week.

  8. Spent most of the day degunking the bike, spent a couple of hours cleaning the chain ,sprockets and getting the goo out of all the nooks and crannies, probably why I get good mileage out of a chain and sprocket kit. Then came back to normality with a trip to tesco.

  9. Had a brainwave about the slightly rubbish suspension on my 999S.

I've been fiddling with rebound and comp damping at the front for ages, last year I was at it and still no better this year. Thing was still flopping about and even pogoing at times. I then remembered that the front preload had been adjusted to my weight, oh, about 2 stone ago.

Gave the front preload adjusters a complete turn to stiffen them and then went out for the best blatt in ages. The symptoms were muted somewhat and the chicken strips have shrunk visibly . I reckon another full turn on the preload and I'll have the cracking handling that I remember this bike is capable of :upyeah:

Beer now, and music. A good day

  10. ...had to put my stock pipes back on for the M.O.T today and 'Barn Door' number plate.

some how I didn't feel quite so proud riding her to the test station!

mind you... an hr later... She was looking all Gorgeous again :upyeah:

  11. And while you flaming lot have been enjoying the sun, here it's been overcast and looking like rain all day, with bl**dy cold East wind blowing all the time.............I've had the heat on again for the last five hours.

    AL

  12. Drove to Newcastle to pick my oldest Daughter up from Uni, 8 hours driving picked up a Chinese for tea and going to bed now.
open gardens tomorrow so no biking, might put them out on the drive as a bit of distraction from the flowers! Multi is still filthy from the Germany trip though :upyeah:

  13. And it doesn't look much better for today either :frown: will probably spend the day pulling weeds out as there's no fun riding when it's cold on roads full of lunatics with caravans!

  14. Get yerself an old clunker like my Guzzi, then every ride is fun:upyeah:

  15. Well this morning I met with Matt46 at Cedar Court near Wakefield. We then headed off to Ducati Manchester via A635, A616 (Flouch Road), A628 (Woodhead pass), M67 and M60. So we had a good mixture of twisties and fast roads getting there. :upyeah:

The loose plan was to have a coffee and if we had time to head off and meet with Kenoir near Delamere. However we got talking to a guy who was chopping in his (newish with 1900 miles) Panigale tricolore for a Panigale R. He seemed a bit troubled whether he was doing the right thing but I think after our chat he'd convinced himself it was a nice 40th birthday present to himself.

Anyway it meant that we ran out of time as we had to get back home for 1pm'ish as Matt46 had to do stuff this afternoon with his missus. Sorry Kenoir. :frown: Next time maybe.

The ride back was "spirited", and we took a slightly different route back. This time we went M60, M67, A628 (Woodhead pass), A6024 (over Holme Moss), A635. At Holmfirth I turned off for home and Matt ride back to his.

After cleaning Eva and tightening all the bolts (as per my routine - never had to do all this malarkey with my JIL4's) and putting her back in the garage, I did a bit of gardening. I then watched WSB and fell asleep during race two

I've subsequently watched it on Sky+ and then went back out in the garden and did a bit more gardening and took in some rays too.

All in all today has been a good day. :upyeah:

  17. If I had the funds then I would love to have a Guzzi, however we have just changed the car so no money left to do anything now :-( however if I ever win the lottery then a Le Mans is on the list of bikes to have!
