Thinking About A New Ducati !

Discussion in 'Newbies Hangout' started by Bezza, Jan 2, 2021.

  1. Hi everyone, i got my license as a bit of a mini mid life crisis via DAC a couple of years ago and jumped straight on a Street Triple R which has been great fun but I’ve now got a hankering for something Italian with a bit more oomph.....
It’s just for fun rather than commuting, did a great trip to LeMans for the 24hr a couple of years ago and last years trip to Snowdonia obviously didn’t happen but we optimistically hope to do it this summer.
I nearly bought a SupersportS this time last year but it didn’t happen which was probably not a bad thing, as with another years riding under my belt and having sat on one again recently the whole set up feels even more upright than my Street and would have just been a change rather than a gain.
Loving the idea of a 959... I’ve not test ridden one yet but stationary at least it feels ok for my 6ft3 height.
Not sure it’s the done thing but if anyone’s interested I can post a picture of my current ride.....
Looking forward to enjoying the forum and a better 2021 than 2020.

  6. Welcome in, the 959 would suit you, maybe try and bet the comfort seat for it as it slightly raises the seat height which will help you in the leg, but otherwise it will suit well.

I’ve had 3 Daytona’s and ridden loads of street triples and speed triples, and had them at the same time as Ducati’s so they do kinda complement each other, certainly the triple is closer to the twin in delivery than a 4 cylinder

  7. Hi Phil, thanks for the tip, ive got the Triumph comfort seat on my Triple that raises it 20mm, didn’t realise there was a Ducati version too

  8. Totally agree, I was looking for an everyday work horse and the right honourable @Expat Jack recommended the stripple, bloody love it to be fair...
But you’ll love a Ducati in a whole different way :upyeah:
    Welcome and enjoy!

  9. How do you find the SC exhaust by the way? I was thinking of slotting some arrows on mine

  10. Ah mate Ducati can release you of your hard earned even better than Triumph, don’t you worry! Think there is a race seat and a comfort seat available.

  11. The SC is great, looks amazing, it’s much louder than an Arrow, especially with the baffle out, some might say it erring on anti social in villages / built up areas but I say you should ride through those areas carefully anyway and scream it elsewhere ! + importantly for this forum the SC is made in Italy !

  12. Glad you still like it Pete.
Get the 959 and keep the triple if you can. You would not regret that.

  13. Welcome and enjoy!
