Is This Legal - Turning Cars Back?

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by Ian, Jan 8, 2021.

  1. There’s been / currently are road blocks on the border between Argyle &Bute and the neighbouring Dumbartonshire. Cars are being turned back for making non essential journeys. Fair enough.
However for many folk in A & B Dumbarton is the nearest fair sized town with supermarkets for essential shopping. Yes, Helensburgh does have a Tesco Local and now a recently opened Morrison’s but can Police Scotland refuse access to Dumbarton for a trip to the Asda?
Doubtlessly, people would take the piss but I wasn’t aware that the new lockdown was sponsored by Morrison’s!

  2. No idea but sounds very draconian but then these are unusual times.

  8. you've gone right to the centre of the problem, it's good to try and apply it but there are no hard and fast rules as to what it actually means and so we all end up interpreting it "slightly" differently. A great shame, another thing that nearly works.

  10. I’ve got so much spare time right now as well.

And a van (t6.1 in red don’t you know)

it’s a match made in heaven. Chicks love a panel van.

  11. You live in a police state, they have power. The government will tell you what to do so that you don't need to use common sense.

  12. I’m chock full busy but well could find time for those 2

In my version they prefer a 12 plate Whiteish LWB Mercedes Vito 113 with a large mattress in the back......

  13. If the Police think that’s power where were they when Blakelock was hacked to death, when a community decide not to consent to being policed in a certain manner it gets messy.

  14. Lwb... I like your style

Having a white van tells them that you’re more accessible as well. Win win.

  15. Yes don’t see the point in the compact versions, mates have the shorter vans then lament not having a van long enough lol

  16. I’ll be traveling up there myself next week. I’ll report back (if I’m not serving time at Ms. Sturgeon’s pleasure)!
